My original idea for a childs playhouse was a Pirates' Lair. The house would be run down, with a sunken roof line, with salvaged items like a mast and crows nest protruding from the walls and roof. I'm sure it would have been neat, too, but I live in a nice neighbourhood, with friendly neighbours, and I wanted to keep it that way!.
I felt this house, with it's cheery colours, clean lines and finishing details would be more suitable for a backyard, and it really does fit in well. Over the past 2 years the shakes have aged, the paint weathered, and usage has given it a more rustic feel, keeping in touch with the original show building in Disneyland.
There is nothing missing from this private, mysterious, tropical themed hotspot. Built in BBQ, fridge, sink, surround sound system with connections to an LCD projector for movie nights, it has it all..
The Renata Outpost. The only hint of civilization in a remote territory. The date is always July, 1935, and the details are there to prove it. Pull up a stool, pour a drink, and listen to the easy sounds of Benny Goodman while enjoying the soft breezes on a hot and humid night in uncharted Africa...
This room is decorated in theme of the classic story, Peter Pan.
Through the use of Victorian era painted walls, and a small chandelier, the Darling nursery is capped off by a mural, looking out a window above the rooftops of London on a starry night. Peter Pans' shadow is playing in the corner, hiding from him, but watching over as well...as Tinkerbell waits outside for the adventure to begin.

This room is decorated using images that I created in Fireworks. Most were taken from photographs I took while on the ride. I took the photos into Fireworks, and then stylized the images into my own creations, while maintaing the original look of the Mary Blair designs.
Print in full colour on white or clear 8 x 10 adhesive sheets on a home printer, they look amazing even years later...
