Inspired by true a FBI investigation that infiltrated the kidney mafia, BLACK MARKET PRICE examines the brutal world of organ trafficking as the lives of several desperate immigrants converge around a single New York police investigation.
On the eve of leaving for Brazil to see his father, Cristiano Guerrera, a straight-laced translator, meets a mysterious European seductress known as Saskya, and awakens to discover hes been robbed of his left kidney. Hes then wrongfully accused of killing a distinguished New York doctor, and ends up on the run. Now with his life hanging by a thread, Cristiano must prove his innocence by uncovering clues that exposes a vicious crime ring of organ thieves. And as the FBI and NYPD inch closer to apprehending him, Saskya, a ruthless criminal feeling remorse for the first time, severs her ties as an organ hunter, saves Cristiano in his darkest hour, and then flees the only life she knows. With more victims turning up dead and Saskya no where to be found, Cristiano plunges into a world of crime and violence that ultimately helps bring down a global network of organ traffickers.
