Haiga is a form of traditional Japanese painting which is typically drawn along with a haiku. The painting can either express the haiku or contrast it. The images found on this page are very loose interpretations of both haiga and haiku, usually following the typical Americanized 5-7-5 line scheme of haiku, and often including some sort of contrast. But obviously they are done with photographs instead of other artistic mediums, and do not follow many of the traditional rules of haiku. Basically, they are our artistic interpretations of the idea of putting images and words together in a meaningful way.
