PRESTIC PRESTIGE
by Greg Zaal
WELCOME person!
As you may or may not know, I like making short prestik animations. When I showed people, and they started liking them and asking if I've made any more, I decided to make more and turn it into somewhat of a production company thing... sort of...
To watch the animations, click "WATCH!!" at the top right. If you want to know how I make them, click "about" in the same navigational area.
Let me tell you something about animation...
What you do, is you sit there for hour upon hour, taking photos and trying to make these irritating prestic people stay standing - then, at the end of all that, you have to put it together with a title sequence, credits and stuff.
Recently I've been making the title and credits in Blender, which is a 3D animation and design program with a steep learning curve, The rendering as well as the creating portion takes really long, but is worth it in the end.
Also, you have to edit each individual photo (...there are over 1000 by the way) to make sure that there are no hands or pieces of string sticking in the frame.
Then you have to deal with computer errors which sometimes takes a week or two.
And then finally, after everything, you watch it. And guess what? It's only about 1 minute long.
So then the entire process starts all over again so that it will be longer next time round....

WHAT I do
Prestic Prestige is made with both stop-motion and 3D animations. These are both time-consuming and often boring, which is why the later and better animations in the series are released so far apart.
HOW I do it
Stop-motion is made by creating a scene and the characters in it, then taking photos of it, each time moving the characters by a very slight amount. These photos (often exceeding 1000 in number) are then strung together and played at a specified frame rate (10 frames per second means that the pictures are only displayed for 0.1 seconds each). This creates the illusion of movement.

3D animation is made in a computer program. I use an open-source program called Blender. 3D animation in general has a steep learning curve, but after a while, I got used to it. I can now make some pretty cool things, check them out in my Blender gallery (link at the top)

PRESTIC PRESTIGE 1
This was my very first animation. I decided to do it after a little presentation at school about an R800 animation course or something similar. So I got home that weekend and installed my webcam and started messing around... It's a really amature piece of work, but It's what got me striving to make more.

Still an amature work, I made it mostly because of the nice responses from the first one. Slightly better because of the fact that my hand doesn't stick in the picture anymore.Still made with my webcam...

GORE EDITION
(AKA Prestic Prestige 3)This was my first good one. No longer did I use my little webcam, but a tripod-mounted digital camera. I edited alot of blood into this one, and in parts it looks really bad, but it's all a learning process. This was also the first one where I added music that fit in spesifically to the theme - Gore and Violence.

(AKA Prestic Prestige 4)This one can be seen as my transition. Where I'm slowly becoming more professional. But I simply ran out of energy and put in some fillers - the time lapses - so that it wouldn't be so short.

PRESTIC PARIAH
(AKA Prestic Prestige 5)This was my first professional one. I still had to resort to fillers taking the form of awesome gaming scenes, but it was good. I also discovered the wonders of Blender, a free 3D animation and modeling program. It has a pretty steep learning curve, but I managed to get the title and credit sequences nicely.

PRESTIC PARADOX
(AKA Prestic Prestige 6)I had finally gotten the hang of Blender and could do a lot of things. Hence the awesome Title sequences and credit sequence. This was definitly my best so far because I did not resort to fillers of any kind. I did not use any typical movie editor, only Blender with animated textures keyed to start at spesific times. This one took me the longest of them all by far... a whopping three months, though I must admit, most of that was spent trying to fix Windows Movie Maker, which I ended up not using anyway... which is clearly a good thing.

Choose the quality in which you would like to download. Lower qualities are smaller so this is a good choice for those who are concerned about cap and bandwidth. Higher qualities are a good idea for those who have uncapped or don't mind downloading that little extra.
The mobile version is available if you phone supports 3gp... which most do.
