The motto of CASI is Chili, Charity and Fun. Houston POD is a prime example with the oldest POD cookoff celebrating our 40th annual cookoff on April 30, 2011. We are proud to cook and compete raising thousands of dollars for charity. In 2011 we raised $1500 for Santa Maria hostel for female veterans, $1000 for Purple Songs Can Fly, a non profit arm of Texas Children's Hospital and $1000 for the Hal John - Judy Wimberly I scholarship fund. As far as fun, well the pictures tell some of the story. Join us on the chili trail, make a difference is some lives and have some fun doing it.
Join Houston POD and receive all of the benefits of membership including the members page, annual point tracker, membership breakfast, qualifying pin when eligible and the satisfaction of belonging to CASI's first POD.
Membership is $8 for an individual and $10 for a household.
Since 1974 Houston POD has honored the people who make a difference for CASI and its mission. Members are nominated by Pods, voted by the HoF committee and announced on the 1st Saturday of November in Terlingua.
