2009-
We put together Pavement Candy in May 2004 with teachers from our school, I didn't fancy banging out pointless covers so I started writing for the first time really intensely. The first dozen or so were pretty rubbish, but gradually managed to piece together some half decent numbers that we thought we could record. The sessions for the first Pavement Candy album stretched out most of 2005, from February to November. After that I recorded an album by myself, laying drum tracks, guitars, bass and vocals all track by track (In the shadow of the broken light- Mar 2006) In May 2006 I bought an 8-track MRS-802 and started recording from home which saved late night excursions across Tokyo to book into for studio time. I recorded a lot of songs from Hashimoto, often with David Jackson adding backing vocals from 2006-2008. We put Pavement Candy together again in September 2007 and we re-visited the same studios we recorded the first album at in 2005 and recorded two mored albums, CYANAURA (Dec 2007) and RACE AGAINST TIME (March 2008) before I returned to NZ in April 2008.
