Goyo Morgan

My name is Goyo Morgan and I was born in Moses Lake, WA, USA. I arrived in Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mexico in October of 1976 as a tourist.I began learning the ocean and jungle from the local Mayan people and fell in love with their simple lifestyle. I returned to the US five months later and could not adjust to my old lifestyle again, so I returned with my spear-gun and backpack and worked as a fisherman. I met a local girl and we were married and had two children. In the 34 years I have lived here I have worked for twelve years on the ocean doing all types of fishing and tourism, been a jungle guide for many years, and been doing healing work at a center we are creating called El Temazcal (fountain of life). El Temazcal is a Mayan healing center and a jungle retreat. We are mostly self-sufficient and are creating a lifestyle in harmony with nature and consciousness. I then began training for a new adventure into the unknown. On May 15, 2010, I began a Walk for Peace from Puerto Morelos to X-Calak,Quitana Roo, Mexico. The journey was approx.300 km (180 miles) down the coast. I walked barefoot wherever possible, alone, and in silence, and I prayed for and manifested peace on earth with no fear or attack thoughts in my mind. I truly believe that it is time to create something positive in this world. An action of consciousness. A thing within my control and an individual statement of my birthright. The Walk for Peace experience was a personal challenge in all ways: spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional.My motto is “Leap and the net will appear,” and I thank God for giving me the inspiration I am enthusiastically following. As one of my heroes, Forrest Gump, would say, “Life is like a box of chocolates. You just never know what you’re gonna get!” And I am sure we can have peace on earth—WHY NOT?

Come join us in a new adventure this spring: A unique opportunity to walk for peace on the Caribbean coast of the Riviera Maya. Our walk will take place on the Sian Kaan Biosphere Reservation beginning in Tulum and ending in Punta Allena total distance of thirty miles (50 km) over a period of six days. Approximately seventy percent of the time we will be on the beach and thirty percent on a parallel road.Our intention is for each individual to be able to experience a deeper level of inner peace as we also manifest universal peace as a group. When we walk in silence, flowing with the perfect consciousness of nature and opening our senses to see, hear, smell, and feel the pristine beauty of this area, it is a truly amazing experience! Each morning we will have breakfast, break camp, and begin our silent walk. We will average about 5 miles a day and each person can move at their own pace. We will leave early to beat most of the mid-day sun and only carry day packs to make it easy for everyone. In the afternoon we will have plenty of time to snorkel, read, or just lie around and relax.A back-up vehicle will carry all our equipmentbackpacks, cooking gear, food, waterand two professional guides will lead and follow the group as we walk. A percentage of the profits of this adventure will be donated to The Amigos of Sian.

Fountain of lifeWe normally have two sessions a week--Wednesday and Sunday--beginning at 7pm and lasting about two hours.Our temazcal ritual is based on intention and expression. During the session you will join a silent prayer circle for creating intent and you will have an instrument that we provide, your voice, and your body to create expression. Conversation is not permitted during the session. Not traditional but rather unique, our temezcal includes a water pool so you can control your own temperature level. We also do only one round and you may leave any time you wish.When you come bring a bathing suit, a towel, and a bottle of water. Dress appropriately for the weather and be aware that sometimes there are a few mosquitoes.
