Goldner's Top Dog is owned and operated by Doug and Linda Goldner. Linda is passionate about all things furry. Learning to groom as a young girl, caring for her own dogs first, as well as the assortment of livestock including Angora Goats and Angora Rabbits that were kept so she could spin their wool.Linda also studied as veterinary technician in the early 1980's, but is much happier just grooming and loving dogs and kitties. She apprenticed and took grooming courses, and still attends many seminars every year to keep abreast of new information and trends in the pet world. Doug is a natural around dogs, growing up with an Old English Sheep Dog. Dogs are just attracted to his calm, quiet ways.Together, they established Goldner's Top Dog. The Goldner's own four dogs Ming-Ming a Shih Tzu, Nicky a Pomeranian, and Scarlet a Standard Poodle that Linda enjoys trying new styles on.They also are raising a Doberman, Danika's Game, and hope to compete in Obedience and Rally trials with her.

Grooming The Basic Groom for Dogs & Cats(Most pets are ready for pick up within 2 hours)Every bath at Goldner's Top Dog features our Hydro-Massage Bath experience. A soft jet of warm water and shampoo soothes and cleans. Stiff joints and tired muscles relax and enjoy, while dirt and dander are lifted away. Next is the clean rinse (followed by a second bath when necessary). Small pets are towel dried and hand finished while our larger friends get a high velocity air jet to both dry the coat and blow out loose/dead hair. Very effective for shed control! We take care to use the best natural shampoos on the market, each taylored to suit your dog's needs. We have a gentle coconut oil shampoo for sensitive skin, yucca whiteners, brighteners, moisturizers, and texturizers to name a few.Every client also gets their nails trimmed and their ears cleaned. A spritz of cologne and a bow or bandana and your pup will feel like a Top Dog! The Full GroomEvery hair cut includes a bath, nails and ears cleaned & plucked if needed (the basic groom).Trimming and styling is done according to your instructions. We can groom to AKC standards or give individual styles that show your pet's unique personality. Or choose a style from our style book. We do scissoring, and also utilize the clipper-vacuum which has really made contemporary grooming less invasive, safer, and faster. The results are fabulous!Cat GroomingIn answer to an often asked question, yes, we do groom cats! Cats need a grooomer who understands them. Their delicate, sensitive skin calls for specialized handling and skin products.Although many cats keep themselves reasonably clean, many need help from time to time. Long haired cats especially need help at the beginning of the shedding season, Spring and Fall. We brush out the coat, trim nails and clean ears and gently bathe with a hypo-allergenic, tearless shampoo and hand dry kitties. We can also clip and style your cat. Many of our feline clients get a "Lion Clip" or the "Channel Cut". Having your cat groomed helps reduce the occurances of hairballs and allergens in the household as well as making kitty look and smell good! Although occasionally cats can be uncooperative for brushing or bathing, we are happy to report that the majority of cats that come to us can be safely and calmly persuaded to be groomed. Our policy is that if a cat really, really doesn't want to be groomed they have the final say and their wishes will be respected.

Boarding Boarding Kennel for Cats & Dogs(Scroll down for Kennel Rates)We offer a safe, clean, comfortable environment and the personalized attention that your pet deserves. Our runs are spacious and bright with sleeping pallets or raised sleeping cots. Air conditioning or heating is provided as needed. Soft music and daily exercise and snuggles. We also provide a variety of premium dog foods or you may bring yours from home. We can refrigerate and/or micro-wave to your pets' taste. We also have a private room for our feline guests. Medications usually given at no extra charge.Our outside exercise areas are 4' x 16'. Additional walks and playtimes in our large play yard can be scheduled as can grooming or nail trimming. Every pet should have proof of current vaccinations including Rabies, Kennel Cough and DHLP and current PA dog license. Pets should also be pro-active with flea treatment.For our cat clients, large kitty townhouses are just the beginning. Every cat has two scheduled play periods per day to climb on our feline fortress. We also have a window perch for bird watching, the "stairs to nowhere" for that big cat fantasy. We also offer a variety of other toys and amusements to pass the time and stilmualate exercise. -All pets should be up to date on all routine vaccinations and proactive with flea treatment.

Please let us know if your pet has any medical problems, allergies, or behavioral issues so that we may take it into consideration while caring for him/her.

-Cash or personal check only, payment expected at time of service.

Returned check fee is $25

-All prices quoted are for pets that are reasonably well maintained. Pets that require more time because of their coat condition, temperament, or physical problems may be charged for the additional care.

-Please give at least 24hr notice if you must cancel your appointment. More than two missed appointments may mean that you cannot be rescheduled.
