HOBART CITY COUNCIL fairtrade petition. docx.docx
To empower, advocate and educate our local community about human trafficking, labour and ethical consumerism and encourage the support and purchase of fair trade products. To work closely with the Launceston City Council in helping them to achieve fair trade accreditation by December 2011.
Go Fair’'s mission and purpose is to help Launceston join other cities and local councils across the country in becoming a Fair Trade Community.
We want to give Launceston’s businesses, community groups and individuals the opportunity to get involved and to play their part as responsible global citizens. To see a better world, where there is equal opportunity and a fair go for all. A world where no child dies for lack of food, water or adequate health care.

We want the people of Launceston to get loud and proud this Fair Trade Fortnight (7th-22nd May) and show off their swap to fair trade and Fairtrade Certified products!
Take a photo of you showing off your swap to fair trade, upload it to http://www.fairtradefortnight.com/show-off-your-swap-to-win/upload-your-swap.aspx and go in the draw to win a host of fair trade goodies!!
A photo booth will be set up at the Oxfam Shop in Centreway arcade throughout the fortnight, but why not organise one in your school, business or with your friends? All you need is yourself, a camera, some creativity and a sign/product to show that you support fair trade.
Your swap makes a real difference to the lives of farmers and their families in developing countries, so why not show off about it?!?

We would love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have.
Hello, my name is Gemma. Being a part of Go Fair means being involved in something really important for Launceston, as well as for the wider global community: a shift towards consumerism with a conscience, and a recognition that we are implicitly responsible for the conditions under which the products we buy are produced and traded.
Hi there, my name is Amanda and I am the Manager of the local Oxfam Shop here in Launceston.
I have been involved with Oxfam and fair-trade for 12 years and am very passionate about fair-trade. It’s very exciting becoming a fair-trade community and look forward to helping business and organisations in their fair-trade endeavours.
