Itzbeen TimersOf course, this was pre-iPhone, when we had to rely on simpler devices. You'll have to buy two, but it's great for keeping track of who has been changed, fed, slept and pooped last.The better and more current solution- "There's an app for that!"
DUH!We've all had our "duh!" moments, so let's share them with new moms to save them the trouble. We've got an entire discussion board dedicated to our "Duh! I wish I had known..." moments for you to use for laughter and learning.Examples:"I wish I had known earlier to buy 20 bottles to last 24 hours for feeding newborn twins. It was a huge hassle to keep rewashing the same 6 bottles over and over again. Duh!""I wish I had known to unwrap a few essentials ahead of time to prepare for the babies homecoming. We got home from the hospital and were like, 'Crap, the diapers are still in that pretty diaper cake and where are the wipes? Aghhh, gotta change diapers NOW!' Duh!"

PUBLIXPublix has double-seater shopping carts. They are shaped like cars and have steering wheels for the twins to play with. From experience: Be sure to return the twins cart to the front of the store when you are finished. There are only 2 or 3 of these carts at each store, so it's already tough to find them. Secondly, leaving them out in the parking lot makes them so HOT that the next set of twins won't be able to ride in it. TARGET Target has new fancy shopping carts and several are multi-kid carts. You can put twins in the seats in front of you and a 3rd child in the regular set area. Heck, why not put a baby carrier in the main cart area to make it seating for 4!HOME DEPOTHooray! They now have multi-kid carts! Twins can sit in the front seats facing each other and there's still room for a thrid child in the regular cart seat byt he handle bar.SAM'S CLUBI believe every cart at Sam's club can accomodate 2 children. DOLLAR TREEWARNING: Do not attempt this store with your twins- especially with your giant double stroller. Good luck trying to fit your double stroller through the door and if you even get that far, there's no chace you'll fit down the aisles. No stroller? No matter how well-behaved your children are, there's so much stuff to touch and knock over in this store, it's ridiculous. Save this shopping trip for a "Mommy only" outing.
Chick- Fil-AChick-Fil-A has regular specials for discounts, free food or kid-oriented events that are fun for the whole family. I'll post the upcoming Chick-Fil-A events on our Facebook Group Page. From Experience:Instead of spending something like $8 on two kids meals, buy the 3 or 4 count chicken strips adult servings (without the fries), ask for 2 dipping sauces, 2 plastic placemats and a knife and fork. Then, cut up the pieces and put them on the placemats for the twins. There is more than enough chicken for both of them to eat and it costs about 3 bucks!David's BBQKid's eat FREE on Monday nights! Load up on the free kids food! If they don't eat it all (they probably won't) take it home for tomorrow's lunch!Boston MarketKid's eat FREE on Tuesday Nights(I think. I'm gonna check on this one.)
Sun Country GymIt's not free, but it's a great place to wear out your twins- I mean, PLAY with your twins in a enclosed area. Friday from 9:30am-11am is "Stay & Play". It's $7 per child, if you are a member, and includes lots of activites and a generous snack. My twins fall asleep on the way home almost every time! BONUS!Great for ages 1-5They also have summer camps and after school programs.O2B Kids$8 per child, for non-members, lots of climbing and jungle-gym activities. Great for ages 3+They offer several summer camps and after school classes as well. Westside ParkGreat park with slides and play equipment for big and little ones. There's a little plastic slide and climb set for kids under 3, great for new walkers, and BIG slides for the older kids. From experience:It's a big area, so it is difficult to keep your eyes on both children... running in opposite directions. I ususally only go when my husband or a friend can tag along to help supervise/play.Oall Mall "Swamp" Play AreaMoms (or some brave Dads) can totally do this on their own! Sit back and watch the twins play on the soft and safe climbable toys, located near Sears. Best for crawlers - age 5From experience:There is a height limit for the children. Mall security usually does a pretty good job monitoring the area, making sure that 12 years old aren't racing around knocking over little kids. This is also a great place to buid up your immune sytem. You absolutely WILL get sick if you play there.Florida Museum of Natural History - Awsomely-FREE. Donations accepted.Let your twins roam around and touch everything for about 45 minutes of educational fun. There are lots of (stuffed) animals to look at and random buttons to push. The live butterfly exhibit is $9 for adults, $6 for ages 2+, Under 2 is FREE.

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3, right?If you've got twins, or twins on the way, that's the first step in joining the twins club and it's also pretty mandatory for membership.
Upon membership approval, you will have access to the Gainesville Twins Club Group page on Facebook. On the group page we can post event and playgroup announcements, photos from those events, share our opinions and stories on the discussion board, share news with each other and make new friends!

Search for "Gainesville Twins Club" on Facebook or click here to request membership. Then, the group administrator will either grant or deny your membership request. We will start collecting membership dues in June 2011. It will be a small annual amount that will go straight into the Gainesville Twins Club bank account to fund events. Check can be made out to "Gainesville Twins Club"
