Gene McCall was an outstanding craftsman and started his furniture restoration business in NY before moving to Florida. Gene has a high standing reputation with clients such as Richard Gere, Ron Howard, Paul Newman, Robert Redford, and museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of American Folk Art, The Ringling Museum , The H. B. Plant Museum, The Lightner Museum and many more.
Gene’s business thrived for 35 years until Glioblastoma brain cancer took his life in March of 2011.
Now his son, Taylor, is running his own business with his fiance, Leah. Taylor was an apprentice of his father for ten years and has achieved the title of Master Craftsman.
Taylor brings his expertise and inherited talent to his business today in hopes to carry on the museum quality of work and customer service that made his father so well known.

Working under his father, Taylor learned the restoration trade and has acheived Master Craftsman. His knowledge allows him to gild, carve, lacquer, restore, conserve, and make any piece into its fullest potential.
Along side his father, Taylor also has shared success in pieces that are now showing in many well known facilities including the Ringling Museum, The Lightner Museum, Sarasota County History Center and more.
Being in his early 20's, Taylor knows more than his father did at his age and expects to gain more knowledge in the years to come.

Taylor McCall
President
Taylor's work reflects his knowledge in the field of furniture restoration. For the past ten years, he was an apprentice under his father, Gene McCall. Before his father's passing in March of 2010, Taylor was recognized as a Master Craftsman by his expert father himself. During his time working under Gene, Taylor restored many museum pieces including John Ringling's throne chair and plant stand - involving the regilding of the gold leaf.
He is thoroughly efficient in traditional lacquer, chinoiserie, carving, marquetry, matte gilding, faux finishing, and the various other techniques of the restorer's art. Feel confident that no matter what the job or piece, Taylor has the determination and knowledge to perfect it.
Leah Kinsey

We are proud to introduce our own special brand of furniture wax for sale on the internet for the first time.
This brown liquid finishing wax is our unique formula, perfected over years of experience with thousands of pieces of furniture. After being dissatisfied with the shortcomings of other commercially available products, Gene & Taylor McCall developed this product for use in their own workshop. They began offering it for sale when they found his clients often requesting a product they could use themselves to maintain the beauty of their furniture. We currently use this same wax on nearly every piece of furniture that leaves our workshop.
This wax is made with the highest quality ingredients. It does not contain beeswax, which can encourage mold growth on furniture in humid environments. It does not contain silicone or other "trick" lubricants that contaminate a furniture finish just to make sure that you have to keep re-waxing week after week. And unlike many other commercially available products, it will not damage the existing finish of your furniture.
An annual application of a high quality furniture wax is the single most effective way to beautify and maintain the antique furniture in your home.
A single application of our wax can really bring a dry, worn, and neglected piece of furniture back to life. It is recommended for all types of natural furniture finishes ranging in color from a medium maple color, to a very dark Jacobean brown, including mahogany, rosewood and oak.
Another excellent product of ours is the Gold Leafing How To video. In this video, Gene McCall himself will show you his museum quality techniques for gilding. See the clip to the right to view a short excerpt of this video.
This great step by step process could be yours for $25.00 + S&H.
