Gifford believes that the essence of taking photographic images is not complete if it cannot convey the story you want to present to its intended audience. He believes that if you take good photos, the need for advanced cameras does not matter.
As serious hobbyist, he always considers his work as a "work in progress" and continues to pursues learning in the fields of travel, photojournalism and documentary photography.
