District Happenings
Revitalizing Flint's Urban Canopy...
The sound of chainsaws can be heard all over the City of Flint these days. The Genesee Conservation District is organizing a major Hazard Tree Abatement Program in the City of Flint. In the next month the District will have orchestrated the removal of 254 hazardous trees in the right of way of the City of Flint. This project has been generously funded by the Ruth Mott Foundation and Al Koegel through the Anna Paulina Foundation.
The District is also looking at replanting 150 trees in the right of way this fall with help from Keep Genesee County Beautiful (KGCB) Tree Tender graduates.
