My Design philosophy
Being able to create an original character and have it tell a story purely on its appearance is something I take a lot of enjoyment from. I believe a story is what makes a character come to life, and this can be achieved through the artwork alone. This is what I love about concept art, there is so much behind a picture and I love the challenge of creating a personality and background of a character just by the way I compose it.

My Inspiration
Growing up, I have always been a fan of sci-fi and fantasy, robots and heroes.
As I became older, my influences were heightened with artists such as Alex Ross and Mike Deodato Jr. I started drawing and creating my own characters, I had a particular interest in creating robotic characters and designing the way they would move and behave.
When I moved from South Africa to the UK, I went on to study a National Diploma in Illustration. From there, I continued the art path and studied a Foundation Degree in Illustration and Games Art, and then finally graduating with a BA Honours Degree in Illustration and Animation.
Since leaving University, I have taken on a few self-projects to help build and create new skills. Purple Hare is one of my most treasured projects up to date. He is a character that has been developed since my college days, and since then I have progressed him further to have his own web comic, and the latest challenge I have set myself is to create a short animated film featuring Purple Hare in 3D against a live action background.
My Materials
Capable of using a variety of materials, I mostly work with pencil and Coral Painter 10, it offers a range of styles in one package.
Also I like to keep myself acquainted with 3d programs, both as a project by its self and as a aid to my drawings when the situation calls for it.
