Winter Morning Pictures (WM P), founded in 2005 is an independent film production company headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. WMP takes advantage of the lower costs of producing movies in Pittsburgh compared with those typical in more established cinema-production centers. WMP also uses new, digital technologies that are dramatically lowering the cost of traditional motion picture production.
WM P has been created for the purpose of developing and producing independent motion pictures in the most artistically satisfying and cost effective manner possible; arranging for the distribution of those motion pictures; and for distributing the revenues that those motion pictures generate to investors in a fully transparent and straightforward manner.
The company founders, all Pittsburgh natives, have combined their passion for their projects with the same passion for their city. They believe that the work they produce will continue to showcase the city in a positive light by providing a venue for industry talent, creating demand from local businesses and fostering the pride they have in all that this region area has to offer.

Gavin
Mike has been involved in video and film production for more than a decade. During that time, he produced, directed and edited his own weekly Pittsburgh cable access television program entitled, All About Pride, which won the Pittsburgh City Paper readers poll for Best New Local Show. He has directed and shot location footage of concerts featuring many popular musical groups.
Mike is also a licensed investment securities broker-dealer, who has sold, wholesaled, and developed relationships to sell mutual funds, annuities, and other wealth transfer products for such financial services companies as Federated Investors, Edward Jones, PNC Bank, and Nationwide Insurance.

Ron teamed up with Gavin in 2007 to produce and direct the motion picture Trapped. Ron also edited Trapped and worked on all aspects of the sound recording and design, and appeared in the picture as Jack the Attorney.
Ron has been a writer, producer, and director of video and film productions for over twenty-five years.
In 2002, he worked on the feature-length motion picture, The Murder, in many capacities, including Sound Designer, Sound Recordist, Composer, and Sound Effects Engineer; and also appeared onscreen as an Assistant District Attorney and as a body double for the principal male actor.

Highlighted by endearing characters and an all original soundtrack by the hall of fame Doo-Wop group; The Skyliners, SINCE I DON'T HAVE YOU is a tumultuous emotional landscape of love, loss and redemption, punctuated with four decades of multi platinum sound. The story captures with unique immediacy the fallout of fractured family relationships, as seen through a child's eyes. Janet, an accomplished famous singer with The Skyliners and her overbearing husband Terry, a tough street wise cop, have driven their marriage to collapse, leaving their 3 children psychologically abandoned and confused.
The story weaves an interesting mix of difficult themes - from subtleties of a parent-child relationship to the terrifying images of emotional breakdown; from the unclear, consuming desires that plague adults, to a child's keen ability to recognize the truth.

This is a clip of The Skyliners performing at
Madison Square Garden in the mid 1970's.
December 2008 marks the 50th anniversary of one of the all-time hit songs of Rock and Roll, "Since I Don't' Have You". Recorded by the Skyliners in New York City at the Capitol Studio, the song was released as a 45 rpm record on Pittsburgh's own "Calico" label and went on to become a muliti-million-seller.

The Chrism Lie presents an austere look at a priest who leaves an indelible
mark in a disappearing world.
Fr. Rene is an inspiring, accomplished priest bereft of dignity. Since the scandals, the posturing and zero tolerance policies by the Archdiocese have stripped him of his vocation and orders. Fraught with this grave imposition he struggles with depression, desperation and guilt. The people he once guided are confused and frustrated by the hypocrisy of the situation. In secret they struggle to make a decision that will affect them and Fr. Rene forever. As Fr. Rene quietly labors to regain his autonomy and purpose, he gradually finds salvation through a deceptively simple exterior. At this point, his life and the lives closest to him become one.

Every month from May 08 through June 09, Gavin and his team will take you behind the scenes of their upcoming production Since I Don’t Have You.
Get inside the creative process as you explore aspects of screen writing, acting, casting, still photography, costume design, scoring, editing, and more. We encourage you to create and share your own projects inspired by what you’ve learned. Your participation in this series will enable you to work on the set as part of the production crew or as part of the cast. We would also like to include some of this series on the DVD release.
