ABOUT GARRY

Garry Moore was born, raised and still resides in the city of Mt. Vernon in the Midwest state of illinois. happily Married to his wife Carmen of 31 years on August 15th 2010. They have 3 adult children, (daughter, Sophia) (son, Jamael ) (daughter Anivea) and 11 grandchildren. Garry is also Pastor and Founder of E.O.C.C. Evangelistic Outreach Christian Center since 1997 which they began in their home,and within 3 years they built a brand new church facility from the ground up. Pastor Moore also has a radio broadcast ministry that can be heard in 7 states ( The Beacon Of Light ) every Sunday. His main purpose in life is to "Preach The Gospel" and evangelize as much of the world as possible which happens to be the title of one of the tracks on the Paradise album. ( TRACK 10 ) his favorite track... because that's his life's mission, is to spread the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ! In his leisure, he loves to play the game of basketball and watching the NBA on T.V. Besides studying the word, his favorite things to do is to write songs and record Music in the studio... He absolutely loves the whole process of creating and producing songs that will touch, inspire, uplift, and refresh a persons heart, soul, mind and spirit. Music is a gift from God and can be therapeutic, and Gospel Music penetrates deep because it ministers to the spiritual part of you, which is the real "YOU"... "Paradise" is his 3rd album, and is the most personal because several songs were written out of fiery trials. A heavy price was paid to birth forth these songs... Personal dilemma's, and ministry dilemma's and that is why they touch the soul of the listener and helps them get through the toughest of times. NOW THAT'S MINISTRY! Garry Moore has a long musical history. A singer, songwriter, musician, and producer. He wrote his first song at age 12, and now has a catalog of over 400 songs. Garry began his musical journey at age 9 when his grandmother formed a gospel quintet of 3 cousins, a friend, and himself. he was the lead voocalist of the young group. being influenced by the "Beatles" he picked up the guitar at age 10. His father also played which inspired him as well. As he grew older he sharpened his guitar skills listening to "Carlos Santana" "Jimi Hendrix" "George Benson" "Al Mckay" and other guitar greats. his gospel influences as a teenager were "Andrae Crouch" "The Mighty Clouds Of Joy" "Rance Alleen" and "Edwin Hawkins". other musical influences were "Earth,Wind,& Fire" "The Commodors" " The Isley Brothers" and "The Jacksons"... at age 19, (1979) he formed the group " Garry Moore & New Joy " They recorded their first (45) single the following year (1980) on the H.S.E. Record label in Nashville Tennesse. 4 years later, he and the group recorded their first Album (1984) with a change in the personel and with a new name "FIRE POWER". The group "Fire Power" opened up for artist like the world renowned Grammy award winning group " The Mighty Clouds Of Joy". The group continued to do concerts and record in the studio during the 80's. in the early 90's the group "Fire Power" disbanded while in the midst of their 2nd studio album and the material was never released. In 1997 he recorded and released his first solo cd album titled "You're Never Alone". He then followed up that project 4 years later in 2001 with a cd album titled "Yahweh" which rendered the number 1. radio Hit Single, "Come As You Are". Several songs from the cd received heavy rotation also on college stations. "Finally, after a long hiatus of 8 years from the music scene "Paradise" was released by T.M.G in 2010. Garry's 4th Cd was released June 10th 2011 titled "A Blessing For You.

Music News update!

Recording has begun at "Sheets Music Factory Studio" for the 2012 music EP album! The next project is expected to be finished by February 2012, and released in May or June of that year. The New Cd will have 6 songs and 1 bonus track! Song titles are... "Fly Away" "Sonshine" "The Rock" "Can't Wait Til Worship" "My God Cares" "He Can Change Your Life" and the bonus track "Lets Walk Together". Check back for updates.
