GA.ME is an independent documentary following a group of thru-hikers on their quest to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. In March 2012 two filmmakers, Taylor Shephard and Eric Brouse, and trail guide, Sam Shephard, will begin the 2,178 mile trek starting at Springer Mountain, GA. Roughly six months later they hope to reach Mount Katahdin, ME with hours of footage and a story to tell. This project is unique in its shooting style, taking a more candid look at the trail and its awe inspiring beauty. The aim of the project is to immerse the audience in the sights and sounds of the trail, while maintaining a human perspective. The purpose of this journey is to inspire people to get outside and be active citizens of the world.
