All my life I've been enamored of artists.After getting a BA in chemistry at St. Olaf College and a PhD in Economics and teaching at several universities, I became a television reporter-photographer (a one-man band).It was a glorious time and, because of the photography involved, I once remarked, This is the closest Ive ever come to being an artist.My goal was to become a national economics correspondent. Fortunately, that did not happen. I say fortunately, because being a one-man band became a true love and nurtured my photographic skills.Ive done TV stories for KVLY-TV in Fargo, ND, for more than 20 years.In late 2005 I bought my first digital still camera; shortly after that I bought a high-end inkjet printer.Both were liberating tools no film wasted and no photo labs to contend with.I don't necessarily want to document the world the way we all see it.
