Graduate of University of Minnesota, Duluth with BFA and BAA degrees. Graduate of Minnesota State University, Moorhead with a MLA degree. Artist's Statement: I find glass to be an exciting medium. I have been working with glass for over 10 years and started Wolfnest Glassworks about the same time as I fell in love with glass. I blow glass, slump, fuse and do flame worked pieces from beads to small sculptures. Glass has been in existence for a long time. The Egyptians made vessels and other objects in glass after they realized that heating sand from their fires produced glass. Glass is like a liquid, when hot it moves like molasses and when cold its' molecular structure is still moving. Light gets refracted through glass showing dazzling colors for the eyes. When I work with glass there seems to be a kinship with ancient glass artisans that touches me on a soul-filled level.
