Eat Well & Keep It Moving!
"Funmi and Friends provided our library with an enjoyable and educational afternoon of valuable information about the importance of nutrition. There were lots of participatory activities for all ages. Our crowd of 50+ seemed to get a lot out of learning while having fun!"

"Thank you for coming and performing at Fort Worth’s Seminary South Branch Library. The kids enjoyed the program and puppets as they learned about healthy living and eating habits. I really appreciated how you interacted with our kids, asked their names and remembered them throughout the performance – this really made for a specialized program for each of the children." - Rachael Spriggs, Fort Worth Public Library
"Our kids really enjoyed Funmi and Friends (especially Sunny & Jubliebee!)! We had a large crowd and not a lot of space, but Funmi was quick to adapt the program to make it workable in the space we had. Everyone had a great time and we heard nothing but positive comments after the show!" - Robin Colvin,
Fort Worth Public Library

"Funmi and Friends provided a fun and interactive presentation to our Elementary students that included messages on healthy eating, movement choices, and other healthy choices. Our students were totally engaged and interested in their entire presentation. We hope they are available to present to our students again next year."

A book by Deborah Orr
An easy reader for child and parent to read while sitting around waiting for some good ole cornbread, or even cookies. In the story Ma and Pa decide to make the cornbread into the shape of a cornbread girl, but once the cornbread girl is ready she jumps from the pan saying, Run, run, around the world you can't catch me I'm the cornbread girl.

Funmi Ogunro is a graduate of Baylor University, B.A. (2009). Funmi came up with the concept of Funmi and Friends, during her senior year at Baylor University. She envisioned providing an educational platform for children to learn about healthy living through media: TV and online videos, and theatrical performances. She believes if we teach children about health at an early age, patterns of healthy living will follow youth well into adulthood. Funmi is a great advocate of learning through fun and interaction which is exactly what Funmi and Friends is all about.
Funmi cites her own early learning from shows like Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers. "I loved waking up and watching Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers, I was learning but it was enjoyable and it wasn't forceful which is the same reason why I believe children enjoy Funmi and Friends."
Funmi's favorite vegetable is spinach, "because you can add fresh spinach to relatively any dish and the taste is so subtle but your getting a whole bunch of nutrients. I eat spinach all the time!"
Funmi enjoys playing basketball and yoga.
Funmi resides in Austin, Texas.
