About FUNCKSHAUN
Funckshaun is an Artist who started young at the age of 14 in the Hartford CT. Growing up he had alot of influences that go from listening to his older cousins in Bridgeport to his friends and school mates in Hartford. He witnessed and experienced many acts of violence and gang activity from the streets to his schools. His personal intrest began around the early 80's from M.D.Fox elementry school in the lunchrooms or in the back of class. Freestyle sessions led to the purchase his first drum machine. That and a small casio keyboard start his first true beat productions. Many other artists liked the beats that were heard so frieinds began calling him by the name Funckshaun. They say because the beats were funky. By this time he was a freshman in Buckley High School. His true drive to pronounce himself as an artist started here. Networking with other artists and producers from Hartford to Bridgeport. This was also building block of Funckshauns drive for hip hop music.
His family there was strong and North Ave & Resurvoir Ave were the hang out spots where alot of street influence came from. Rapping with his cousins and friends around the neighborhood. His older cousins would bring home Albums from artists like EPMD, and Erik B & Rahkim, KRS 1 and so on. These were the beging influence that started it all. In 1991 he transfered to Manchester high and formed a group with his cousin Phill, Frog and his friends Akil Queststarted and Da Natural started a group named Citizen K.A.O.S. He worked together with his mother, Mrs. Pearl as his manager. Funckshaun would do the music for all the shows and Studio Recording. Within this group the talent as well as experience grew even stronger as Citizen KAOS began performing many live performance. They performed from Springfield Mass, New York to Fayetteville NC. Funckshaun began recording more solo projects around 1998 with Gerald Williams at Prophet Records. He relocated to Atlanta where he continued to market himself but low funding and hard life situations didn't make it easy to keep up with his music career. Now he is producing himself and doing things the way he wants. No one controling the outcomes of his actions. He just writes from the experiences of himself and his pears. I "write for the average Hip Hop person " he says. Hip hop music he feels has become watered down and he would like to encourage more music to bob to and more artiticulate lyrical flow.

Words from FUNCKSHAUN
Listen, I wana let the world know.
"I am just an average every day dude". I am
not A thug, Gang member, Gangster, wana
be tough guy or any of that. I do what every
average person does in the city, I hustle
how ever I can to stay alive and keep it movin.
In the past few years I havn't really listened to
the radio, cuz of the repeated wackness, I don't
buy that many CD's cuz I personally just havn't
heard much I wana listen to.
During the day or at the end of the
day I like to hear some ill music. I still listen
to my Old Nas, Wu-Tang, KRS-1, The LOX,
Mobb Deep, Papoose and all the MC's that
Fit in that area of Hip Hop.
Me I like to make beats. Got to be
Gutta, no pretty go to the club beats. And I
Like to flow every now and then but I really
enjoy makin beats. I'm not the best. I know
I'm not, but I encourage all REAL Hip Hop
heads to make some noise. I know your
out there. I wana hear you.
And to all labels, stop killing your
artists for the wackness of the media. STOP!
And take time to really let your artists be
the artist that they are. Please keep all wack,
and fake personallities away from me. If your
a hater you can suck a limp penis just leave
me alone. Peace to Harford Ct. and the
whole Tri-State. I'm out.
F#_K a Hater!
First i would like to say peace to all Hip Hop heads
and give a shout out to all the original pioneers of Hip Hop
music. If it wasn't for you all our culture of music wouldn't
have gotten as far as it did. The world wouldn't have viewed
us and recognize us for the power we do have. Hip Hop
has allowed alot of people to express themselves and put
some of us in the financial positions that we are in.
Though I must say Hip Hop has become very
watered down. To me it's more pop and R&B rap music
which I and majority of the people I know don't listen to.
What happened to the beats that make you wana bop
your head and rock to? What happened to the Real poetic
and well thought out lyrics that MC's had. It's getting WACK!
yup I said. Most MC's to me in the recent past few years are
WACK! I'm not the best. I know there are better MC's out
there. I meet them from time to time on the street. It's hard
For them to get out because of lack of resources and the
markets wack ass urge to push for these pop rappers.
Shiney skinny pants wearing, tight cloths having wack ass
unreal MC's. Now, Talent is Talent. I give credit to the new
era of Rap Music, but really I as well as many people I've meet
and Know are missing the true Hip Hop artists that are out
there. We miss the freestyle sessions 20 deep on the
corner gettin bent. We miss the bangin beats that you
can't help but kick a verse to. Not club rap music, not
R&B rap music but we want Hip Hop Music.
The FUNC.
