ABOUT
About me
I have gained First Class Honours BA (Hons) Foral Design and also BA (Hons) Interdisciplinary Art and Design. During my study I developed ideas in jewellery and wearable sculpture, experimenting with organic materials.
I specifically preserve plant materials such as petals, florets and blooms, combining them with metal and plastic in order to create flowers as jewellery. My use of metal and plastic enhances the beauty of the flowers and adds originality to my designs. These materials also function to protect the delicate blooms. The collections include ‘Caged Ring’ which combine jewellery and sculpture in an original way.
The concept of my work is to capture the moment of beauty in flowers and to emphasise the architectural nature of plant forms whilst retaining their eternal fragility. My jewellery is ‘special occasions’ jewellery, being both an art form and a recollection of nature and the seasons.
