    This rock n’ roll band brilliantly used Wix to design a site that captures their edgy style, and presents them as professionals. A contest is featured on the homepage, to promote the band on Facebook. A link points to a page with full details, leaving the homepage clutter-free with an appealing image of the prize - a new iPod Touch.

    The black and red color scheme is consistent throughout Petty Crux’ site, from the menu buttons, to the scrollbars. All of the elements were customized using the website builder, and the band’s logo was planted prominently on the home page, as a focal point. A large photo of the band is placed next to a music player that fans can click on for a sample playlist. Links to iTunes and Amazon make it easy for visitors to purchase Petty Crux’ album, or download a free sample.

    The elongated layout resembles a MySpace page, and visitors can scroll down to discover a rich variety of elements such as a concert video playlist. There is also a mini-blog synched with Facebook, and live Twitter updates. A row of links can be found at the bottom of the page, leading to social networks and places to purchase Petty Crux music and fan gear.     Graphic designer James Reid created two free websites to express his diverse styles - one simple, clean and minimalistic, the other dark, with a grittier feel and a more extensive body of work. The two portfolio sites are linked to one another through their respective homepages, making it easy for a visitor to get a taste of the artist’s diverse styles.

    The smaller portfolio is extremely comfortable to navigate, with a word cloud of links on the top left corner of the main page. Work samples were divided by genre, each presented in a separate photo gallery accompanied by a circular thumbnail menu. Clicking on a thumbnail image results in the adjacent photo gallery to turn a page, giving site visitors a secure feeling of control. Rich, quick-paced piano music flows from a music player embedded within the site’s clean, white background, offering an audio accompaniment to Reid’s art.     A group of innovative and creative professionals, ADP used Wix to make a website that captures its unique spirit. A minimalist splash page welcomes visitors and sets the tone for what’s in store. Clicking on a red “Enter” button leads you to the main site, where a set of links divides the site into clearly divided sections. Visitors can see what’s currently showing, and book a ticket directly through a shopping cart widget. Donations to this non-profit organization can be made by selecting a pre-set amount from a stack of bright, 3D-style buttons.

    The amount of energy packed into this website, and the organized composition of it all is impressive. Music plays from a large, graphic music player on the About page, that is set to automatically play upon landing on this page. Photo galleries with rollover animation contribute to the site’s dynamic pulse. The black and white color theme unifies the site’s elements, and promotes ADP as a group of professionals. Photographs of dancers, musicians and actors are primarily in black and white, with the warm wood of violins and bold splashes of color serving as a focal point.
