A Few Words on Your Site's Size
With the free website builder, you have the freedom to control how your site is presented to your visitors, who are accessing your site with different browsers, on computers with different resolutions. No two internet users are the same, and this is a common issue for web designers using both Flash and HTML. Thankfully, there are two ways to control the screen size of your free Flash website, so that it appears the way you want to most of your viewers.
Control the Height and Width of Your Site
Change the size of your website easily by clicking on Settings, on the top of the website builder.
Most internet users today have a screen width of 1024 pixels. If you set the width of your Wix site to more than 1000 pixels, your full website will not be viewable without scrolling to users with lower screen resolutions. It's recommended that you keep the width of your site lower than 1000.
It is also recommended to check the "Keep aspect ratio" box, to ensure that all of your items remain proportional to each other. This prevents weird visual alterations of your site's design.
Select a Scaling Method when Publishing
When you hit the green Publish button on the top of the website builder, you'll be prompted to choose between two options: "True Size" and "Best Fit".
We recommend "True Size". This means that your website will appear in its true size as you set under Settings (i.e. 1000 x 650). This does mean that users with smaller screens will have scrollbars appear, in order to view your full site.
"Best Fit" automatically resizes your Flash website, to best fit the screen of each visitor. This can reduce the size of your text for users with smaller screens, making your text distorted, difficult to read, or completely illegible. As a default, Wix will publish your site with True Size, to prevent your design and content from being altered. If you are interested in selecting "Best Fit", you should test your site on computers with different resolutions to make sure you are satisfied with its appearance.
