Search by keyword or audience and explore the YouTube Channels, videos, and categories where you might want to advertise. This is an easy step-by-step tool for getting in to those 400 million users. First, you'll want to go to www.google.com/videotargeting. Go ahead and click on the button that says, “Get started selecting placements.”
From there, there are four formats for your ads to appear on the YouTube videos. These are: In Video overlay, In-Stream Video, Banners, and YouTube Promoted Video. So, if you are selling vintage vinyl records, type that in. If you select Videos, that will show you specific videos that you want to advertise with. This is the most specific because not all videos may relate to the product or service you’re selling on your Flash website. A video may have record in the title, but may be about boxing matches. Select the videos that work best. There may not be as many views as a category, but you will be targeting your potential clients more effectively than in the category, “Arts and Entertainment”.
Lastly, once you have selected your placements, you'll want to Export to AdWords by clicking on the button next to the word Summary at the top of the page. You may also choose to download the csv file into your Outlook. When you return to your Home page on YouTube Video Targeting, you'll see that your new media plan has been saved for future use.
