Why Your Coffee Shop Needs a Website

Coffee shops are wonderful places – the smell of coffee, the sound of the coffee grinder, people talking and relaxing. There’s something special about them that makes people keep coming back. Many coffee shops have a whole raft of regular customers who remain loyal to their favorite place for coffee for so long as they live in the area. So why does your coffee shop need a free website?

1. Attract new customers

While the regulars might be the bread and butter of your business, every coffee shop will need to attract new customers. In the world we live in, people come and go from areas so your local community might be totally different in five years time. You need to put yourself on the map as the place to go for coffee in your town. By having a website you’re making yourself accessible to tourists as well as locals. This can only increase your cash flow as well as maintaining a cosmopolitan buzz around your coffee shop.

2. Develop a community

A community is a great thing for a coffee shop to have. It’s lovely for people to be on first name terms with the staff, feel comfortable enough to spend hours there talking to others who come in and out, or just spend time drinking coffee and reading books. You can extend this community feel to your online presence. Perhaps you could create a blog, create a forum, use Twitter or Facebook. These are all fantastic ways of keeping in touch with your customers, even when they aren’t in your coffee shop. This type of community feel could also attract new customers. Perhaps someone has just moved to the area, they see on your website that you’re friendly and welcoming and they decide to come to your coffee shop.

3. Providing menus and photographs

A web page with menus is a great resource for people to view on your business website before they visit your actual business. There are people who have dietary requirements, or perhaps are on weight-loss diets. These people will want to plan what they eat before they leave home and your free website is the best place to provide this information to them. You could also provide information if you do cater for specific dietary requirements. This means that people don’t have to spend time calling you up to enquire. Photography can be a great way to enhance your online menus. Good photography can entice new visitors who are thinking just how delicious your food looks.

Another type of menu that you could provide is a coffee menu. If you are a coffee shop that stocks lots of different varieties of coffee then your free website is the perfect place to put that information. There are coffee buffs who will find your coffee shop and visit it just to try a specific type of coffee.

4. Time saving

A website is a good way for any business to save time. By providing all of the relevant information online, customers can access it before they even leave their home. If anyone phones to ask you for information you can just point them to your free website. Of course, with your website in place you’re likely to get a lot less phone calls. People will automatically search for you online before they pick up the phone. This will save you time that you could be using to brew up lots of pots of hot, delicious coffee!

5. Adds validity

Websites add validity to any business. For many people, if you don’t have a website they won’t bother visiting your physical business. This is often because they will have found another business nearby which does have a website and which gives them all of the information that they need. People will feel that the business with the website is more valid than the one without. Of course, this may not be true, but without a website it is the impression that you are giving.
