All about you
Your website is the perfect place to have information about you. You can put information about your past experience: list your years of experience, the age groups you have particular experience with and any qualifications that you might have. This is also a great place for you to have personal information about you. It’s important that the parents like you as a person, find you friendly and approachable. List any hobbies that you have, what you like to do in your spare time and anything else you think will set you off at your best. This also holds true for babysitting services that have more than one babysitter. Use your “About” page to show off all of your staff.
Answer questions in advance
Something you might want to include when you create your own website is an FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions). No doubt there are some questions that you get asked time and time again. On your babysitting website you can have a list of questions that you get asked all of the time – what are your rates? Do you charge for overtime? How much notice do you need? By having all of this information on your website you can just send people there for answers. Also, it means that your clients can find information they need 24 hours a day. You may not answer your phone while you are on a job and with a website you don’t need to!
Publish your schedule
There are plenty of calendars that you can use to let people know when you are available. A simple way to do it is to use Google Calendar. You can publish your babysitting calendar on your business website, giving your clients an indication of when you are free and when your time is booked up. This will save both you and your client’s time as they won’t have to call you up every time they want to know when you are available.
Offer References and Testimonials
Create your own website with a place for testimonials. You can ask past clients for these and ask them if you can publish them on your website with their name attached. A testimonial with a name attached to it is much better than one without – it shows that these are real people. You can also offer references. Don’t put your referees’ details on your website though! Note on your website that “references are available on request.”
Additional Services
Don’t just offer babysitting services? Maybe you organize children’s birthday parties, or will take children on outings. Your website is the place to add all of these additional services. Things like this will add depth to your website and make you appear more professional. You can tell people that you’re not just a one trick pony :)
