Top Kids Fashion Stores Websites You Should Check Out

Designing websites for kids fashion stores has got to be difficult. On the one hand you want to appeal to kids as they’re the ones who will be wearing your clothes. On the other hand it’s the parents who are paying so they get the final decision. Appeal to only kids and the parents won’t want to pay, appeal to only parents and the kids will find the website boring. It’s a fine line to tread. Here are some websites that get it right:

Polka

Polka is the business website for a kids fashion line that was started in 2008. It’s a vibrant website that has appeal for both adults and kids. The web page background has a dynamic image but because it is in black it stops it from becoming over the top. The website has loads of big, bright images showing off the clothes. The logo is quirky and colorful, perfectly matching the brand. The website is actually a blog. Underneath the large header images is a long series of posts but because these are images it stops it from looking too much like a blog. It’s a great way to produce a website as it keeps the content fresh and dynamic. The “About Us” section gives the visitor information about the founders of the company. The fun text tells the visitor loads about the founders and helps to build up the overall brand.

Connie’s Kids

Connie’s Kids is a much more traditional website with a light pink, purple and blue color scheme. Although the website is fairly standard, a great feature that they have got is the “Connie’s Kids Models.” Customers can send in photographs of their children wearing the clothes. This is a great scheme as it gets free exposure of the business as parents send in photos of adorable children to be featured on the website. Also, the parents get a $25 gift certificate so everyone’s happy!

Bit’z Kids

Bit’z Kids is one of those websites which just has great design. It totally fits the bill for attracting both adults and kids. The fun wall web page background image and cute graphics are perfect for kids while the logical layout works well for adults. The “About Us” page contains a lot of information about the Japanese store, about both its ethos and its history. This type of information tells the visitor that it’s more than just a clothes shop – that there is an actual ethos behind it. This is often important for parents buying clothes for their children. It also contains important information like size charts. This can be particularly helpful when buying a present for someone else’s child! If you don’t have any children yourself it can be difficult to know what size to buy!

Saurette

Saurette is the Flash website of designer Lisa Kanouse. It functions almost as a personal website, with a digital portfolio of all of her designs. The thing that sets this website apart is the beautiful photography. Each of the items of clothing is modeled by a child with the photographs taken expertly. There is also a section for testimonials which works really website on a small business website such as this one.
