This treatment can be described as one-on-one aquatic exercise in a therapeutic temperature pool. or suspended manual therapy (Bad Ragaz). Bad Ragaz is a form of active or passive movement patterns done with the use of floatation devices that utilize the movement and resistance of the water to facilitate restoration of normal movement patterns and improve flexibility.
We provide individualized care based specifically on each patient’s needs. After a complete comprehensive evaluation, we develop a treatment plan based on our findings and the patient’s goals. This may include strengthening, muscle stretching , neuromuscular re-education, balance training, and hands on manual therapy including joint mobilization and soft tissue mobilization. We also provide treatment for Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), cervicogenic dizziness and other vestibular and balance disorders. Additionally, we offer aquatic therapy for treatment of various conditions such as Osteoarthritis, Degenerative Joint and Disc Disease of the spine, and pre and post surgical rehabilitation.
Denise Kelley, Physical Therapist and owner of Fit for Life Physical Therapy has a Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy from California State University Sacramento graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1997. She then completed 2 years in the Norwegian Manual Therapy Course given at the renowned Folsom Physical Therapy and Training Center. Additionally, she filled in as a lab instructor, written a study guide for the long term course, has edited numerous text books on Norwegian Manual therapy, and has also trained in Sedona, AZ. under John Barnes for Myofascial Release.
Tamsyn Miller, DPT graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors Degree in Sports Medicine from Pepperdine University and graduated Suma Cum Laude with a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from University of Pacific. She is currently enrolled in the Folsom Long Term Manual Therapy Course and has aspirations of getting her manual therapy specialty. Additionally, she has been a competitive Soccer Player and worked in the sports medicine training department at Pepperdine with a variety high level collegiate Athletes.
