This commitment is provided through education, economic development, social service, and alliance with community organizations. HNH is closely tied to the neighborhood and offers a broad spectrum of services, as well as community and economic development programs. These include childcare services, a comprehensive performing arts program, minority adoption and foster care services, transitional shelter for homeless youth, an innovative family preservation program, a residential home for teenaged girls, senior housing, adult education and recreation programs, and a senior citizen program. Bridgeport is the largest city in Connecticut, with an estimated population of 143,900. HALL ACADEMY OF MUSIC AND FINE ARTS
provides a rich and intense curriculum in order to bridge Bridgeports education gap with a multiple Arts education. Students study Dance, Drama, Music, and Visual Arts and are exposed to both the classical and contemporary arts. HAMFA students perform regularly and are assisted in auditioning for outside projects in order to gain professional and pre-professional experiences. The summer conservatory currently accepts approximately 20-30 students. With an average student/teacher ratio of 11:1, instructors are able to provide individualized attention for each student. The children who reside in Bridgeport receive priority for registration in the Hall Academy of Music and Fine Arts. This priority registration provides Bridgeport residents an opportunity to excel by receiving the advantages of Multiple Arts education.
Bridgeport residents will be able to receive private and small group lessons in music and music theory at minimal costs. Specialized classes will be offered in areas such as: Dance. Piano, Photography, and World Rhythms. Classes will be taught on state of the art equipment and utilize the latest in computer software technology.
