Nick Jonas Inspired By Prince and John Mayer
Are you loving Nick Jonas new career turn with his new band Nick Jonas and the Administration? Plenty of people are! And now hes telling us all about his inspiration.
You obviously know where Nick Jonas is from (the Jonas Brothers, duh!). But do you know where his new bandmates, The Administration are from? Theyre actually from Princes New Power Generation Band. So, its not really a surprise that Nick Jonas found inspiration in Prince for his new LP.
Well, thats pretty cool for Nick! But he says hes still not sure if Prince has heard any of the new music. But he says, Ive heard one or two stories about how the guys in the band were asked by Prince to come and do some things with him, but they had to decline. So, Prince must know theyre up to something!
And Nick is hoping for a little surprise visit from Prince when his band plays in Minneapolis: Were playing a show in Minneapolis and it will be the homecoming for all the guys in the band. And [I'm] just waiting to see if Prince is gonna show up and be sitting there, like, with a blank face on. Hopefully he likes it. Wouldnt that be amazing for Nick Jonas?
But Nick says that he also uses John Mayer for inspiration (does every musician today?): [I] admire his work and I think that using some of his songs as inspiration for this was a big thing. We love John Mayer too and think he definitely helped Nick Jonas get a more grown-up sound than he had with his brothers.
Other artists Nick Jonas admires include Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, Elvis Costello and Johnny Cash.

Nicholas Jerry Jonas
Nicholas Jerry Jonas - Mainly known Nick Jonas - was born on the 16th September 1992. Nick was born in Dallas, Texas but was raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey where he was homeschooled by his Mum.
Nick's career started when he was discovered at the age of 6 in a barber shop and was referred to as a professional show business manager. At the age of 7, he began performing on Broadway. He had acted in several plays, including A Christmas Carol (in 2000 as Tiny Tim and Scrooge at 8), Annie Get Your Gun (in 2001 as Little Jake), Beauty and the Beast (in 2002 as Chip), and Les Misérables (in 2003 as Gavroche). After Les Misérables closed, he performed in The Sound of Music (as Kurt) at the Paper Mill Playhouse
In November 2003 Nick Started his 1st Solo Project 'Nicholas Jonas'. In early 2005 The 'Jonas Brothers' formed with Columbia Records. In 2009 Nick started on a new solo project,
'Nick Jonas and The Administration'. The Single 'Who I Am' is being released on December 3rd and The Album is being released early 2010.
Nick was diagnosed with Type I diabetes at the age of 13 and wears an OmniPod insulin pump to help him manage his diabetes. He has developed the Change for the Children Foundation. Partnering with five different charities, their goal is to raise money and awareness for diabetes. He also developed a public service announcement with the Washington Nationals to support diabetes care at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Since August 6, 2008, Bayer Diabetes Care has partnered with Nick as a diabetes ambassador to promote the idea for young people to manage their diabetes. Nick testified in the U.S. Senate to promote more research funding for diabetes.
