Compact - flexible - economic.
The patented system that can be used as a mobile or stationary system for the treatment of healthcare waste on site. Special waste management and handling problems are reduced or solved by:

It reduces the volume of waste by up to 80%. Waste treated is completely disinfected. The disinfected waste is shreddered into tiny fractions.Disposable waste, such as syringes, scalpels, glass or medical waste is not a threat.
The system can treat waste where it has been caused.
Collection
The waste is no longer collected in plastic bags.
Specially designed hermetically sealed reusable Polycarbonate wastebins are used. The lid of the wastebins is raised by a foot pedal, enabling waste to be deposited without hand contact.
Provided with each wastebin is a sealing clamp ring, jointed and lock shut forming a hermetic seal. It can then be moved safely through the facility.
The full and sealed wastebins can be easily stacked, saving space while awaiting treatment.
Processing
Prior to the treatment, ten wastebins are placed on the retracable platform of the unit. At the touch of a button the platform is retraced inside the sealed treatment chamber. Each of the wastebins is automatically connected to the sealed system of the unit.
The cycle begins with ten hollow needles (canulae) being lowered into the lids of the wastebins puncturing the "bung" seal of the lids.
A washer around the hollow needles then forms a pressure seal, connecting each of the ten wastebins to the system for the start.
Approximately 2 litres of water and steam at 140°C are injected. The systems 9 microwave gensets are activated, heating content to in access of 105°C, which is maintained, causing saturated steam atmosphere. First vacuum then preassured atmosphere is created. So saturated steam atmosphere completely penetrate and disinfecting wastebin contents.
Sytem guarantees effective destruction of all germs, even in closed and hollow containers, such as glass bottles or very small diameter tubings.
Chamber of the units open automatically and the wastebins can be opened without risk of infection.
Wastebins are then transfered to the integral shredder, located at the side of the unit.
Final Treatment
The shredder is developed specially for shreddering healthcare and hospital waste. Synthetic materials, plastic, bandages, all types textiles, limb, bone, metal syringes, needles, lancets, scalpels, bone screws, nails and glass bottles.
Automatic arm lifts wastebin and empties into shredder. After shreddering waste is compressed with 80bar, any liquid present is disposed and drained into a container under the shredder.
Sterile liquid from the compaction of the waste is drawn to a separate tank. It contains only biodegradable residual substances and can be discharged to the local effluent treatment works, under permit, or disposed by alternative means.
Sterile, dry compact waste volume is reduced by 80%. Retrieving all recycables can be disposed as regular waste or brought into a O2E-KET plant.
