I started spinning in 2001. Back then, I spun with vinyl. I would receive hundreds of records and CDs from various music labels each week. Since 2006, technology made it possible to DJ from mp3s that are stored on laptops, thereby, eliminating the need for vinyl and CDs.
Thousands of DJs worldwide have converted over to this technology. So, what do they do with the vinyl and CDs?
As a DJ, I know how much vinyl means to most DJs. The time it takes to dig through crate after crate at a record store for a particular song, the money it costs to buy the music and the moment the crowd reacts make it priceless. Unfortunately, selling, giving or even throwing away these records may be an option to a lot of DJs making the transition to laptops.
Even though I no longer use vinyl, I can never toss out my record collection. So, instead, I found a way to turn audio into visual art.
Each piece is hand crafted and designed with real vinyl, CDs and pieces of dj equipment.
For custom pieces of art with a particular color, use of a specific record, certain headphones, etc, please feel free to inquire further on my contact page.
