Royal Seed Needy Home Royal Seed Needy Home
As Fly By Night Theatre Company enters its fourth season, it remains committed to assisting underprivileged children in Africa. Proceeds from our productions go directly to Royal Seed Needy Home, an orphanage in Ghana, Africa that cares for more than 60 young children.
The funds raised will help Royal Seed obtain the amenities necessary to host overseas volunteers and earn a regular income.
All opportunities to maximize proceeds and eliminate costs help Fly By Night Theatre to provide assistance to this worthy cause. If you are interested in how you can support Fly By Night Theatre in our charitable efforts, please visit our 'Support' page.
Support Fly By Night Theatre is a registered non-profit corporation in the Province of Ontario and a member of Theatre Ontario. Our charitable focus is to contribute to the Greater Toronto arts community through innovative performance and educational opportunies. Our constitution mandates that no less than 75% of the net of our shows is donated to causes that make a difference in the global community.

Gordon
Gordon Chan has been a member of Fly by Night Theatre Company since the organization's founding in 2007. He co-directed both Autobahn and 7 Stories for the company, and was a part of the ensemble that developed Boy Meets Girl for Fly by Night's As Good As New Festival. As an actor, Gordon has appeared in Xtro & Julie (Alumnae Theatre), The Emperor's New Clothes (NAGs Players), The Miser (Gnu Ground Theatre), and various productions at Queen's University where he received his degree in Commerce. Gordon was also a member of the Tarragon Spring Training Project and the Soulpepper Youth Mentorship Program.

Randy Randy Lee is a York University Graduate, specializing in Theatre Production and minoring in tomfoolery. Past credits include head carpenter for Fly By Night Theatre ( 7 Stories, The Long Weekend, Autobahn, Happy Christmas Jenna Jameson ) as well as lighting designer for Caterwaul Theatre ( Fringe 2008's How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Abortion ) and V-Day Toronto 2009 ( The Vagina Monologues ). He is known to moonlight as an actor from time to time, and like all serious artists once removed his pants on the internet for the sake of a decent paycheque ( The TELUS Field Services: Share a Tip. Win a Trip ). He is proud to be part of a theatre company that isn't afraid to try to make the world a nicer place.

Marisa
Marisa is an emerging actor and writer who lives - and attempts to work - in the GTA. A recent graduate of Sheridan College's joint acting program with UofT, Marisa has learned she is awful at self-promotion. Writing highlights include being recipient of the Robertson Davies Playwriting Award for the production of Ad: 450 Pilot in the UofT Drama Festival, as well as workshopping her one-woman show language|math at SummerWorks 2009. Her play Even Better Living recently received a remount at Bread & Circus Theatre and currently she is focusing on sketch comedy and fine-tuning a one-man adaptation of A Doll's House . Acting highlights include playing Hecuba in Ellen McLaughlin's adaptation of The Trojan Women (Theatre Erindale), Mary in Happy Christmas Jenna Jameson (Fly By Night Theatre), Nina in Ashes to Ashes (New Ideas Festival), and a workshop of Nil Darpan for Soulpepper. Upcoming roles include Lupe in the Ashburner Inc. web series This Day Must End.

Jessica Sikora has been a supporter Fly By Night Theatre Company since its earliest productions .. She was quickly awed by the company's creative quality and philanthropic vision. Her whirlwind inception onto the Fly By Night team has included roles as Front of House Assistant ( Four Play ), Financial Producer ( Good As New Festival ) and currently: Artistic Council member. She is a graduate of Trent University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts, and also holds a Bachelor of Education from Queens University. As Director of Finance and Administration she is committed to strengthening Fly By Night's organizational structure and sustainability. She is proud to be part of the Fly By Night family and looks forward to contributing to goals and visions the company has held true since its inception.

Ryan
One of FBN's founders, Ryan is a GTA director and actor, working to support his unshakeable habit of putting things on stage and asking people to come see them. He has worked as a community organiser and activist for the past 6 years, and is currently attending George Brown College in the Community Worker program. For Fly By Night Theatre, he has co-directed 7 Stories and Autobahn and directed Daniel MacIvor's This is a Play for the company's As Good as New Festival, as well as appearing as Roger Nash in Norm Foster's The Long Weekend. Outside FBN, he has appeared with the Mississauga Players as Lord Fancourt Babberly in Charley's Aunt and as Algernon in The Importance of Being Earnest. Other directing credits include Even Better Living (Bread & Circus Theatre) and Ad: 450 Pilot (U of T Drama Festival) for which he received the Robert Gill Award for Best Director.

Michele Since Fly By Night Theatre Company's establishment in 2007, Michele Chan continues to be an active member of the company, whether as a council director, producer, or actor. A graduate from York University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Humanities, Michele is currently working towards her Human Resources Management degree at Sheridan College to achieve a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation. As FBNs Director of Fundraising and Sponsorship, Michele is focused on organizing creative fundraising events in addition to seeking individual and corporate sponsorship opportunities. As always, all funds raised help support Royal Seed Needy Home in Ghana, Africa. Michele is extremely proud of the company and thanks the council for their hard work, the casts and crews for their great talent, and the audience for their ongoing support.

Stephanie
Stephanie Draker is a York University Graduate, specializing in Visual Art and Fine Art Cultural Studies. As an Art & Culture professional, Stephanie has many years of experience working with a number of prominent museums and arts & cultural organizations specialing in the development of public programming, curatorial and community outreach projects. Stephanie first started with FBN as production photographer and in 2010 added the role of Marketing Producer for The Selkie Wife. A dedicated member and patron of Toronto's arts, craft, and performance communities, Stephanie also continues to exhibit as a fine art photographer and emerging craft artist.

Shannon
Shannon is an actor, acting coach, and jack of all trades. She holds her M.A. in Acting, and likes to blow bubbles in her chocolate milk. She has had the pleasure of working with FBN as an actor, director, and stage manager. As Director of Audience Development, she hopes to encourage people to support FBN; not only as a form of entertainment, but as a worthy cause.

I watched Mr. Marmalade, produced by Fly by Night Theatre, at Torontos Village Playhouse on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
I had read the description of the play and knew it was a dark comedy but had no idea it would be 90 minutes (including an intermission) of non-stop hilarity. For more click here .
