About Erin Sherman
Primarily an Illustrator, with the desire to illustrate for picture books , Erin is most often marrying her graphic design skills to her illustration style , creating rewarding illustrative design. She has applied this many times to attractive work for various local businesses: creating illustrative signage, identity, and advertisements.
Erin wants her illustrations to attract children to a lifetime of learning through e xcellent artwork & design . She often develops her own stories for children, sprung from living with two incredible little Peanuts. She recently completed illustrating her first children’s book , written and self-published by Elisabeth Hurley, titled Digging Spring . Her favorite aspect of creating an illustration as a story without words is to include a little secondary happening
within the picture.
Erin always enjoys presenting her work to budding artists. Besides visiting elementary schools, she has been honored to be chosen to be a Visiting Artist at a nearby Community College several times. She also occasionally teaches Art-after-School or Summer Art Camp at a local Art Center.
Erin grew up being creative for hours at the desk in her bedroom. She began her pursuit of Art at CCC, and later more specifically earned her Bachelor’s degree in Illustration from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in 2003. Today she actually works at that same desk, in her and Mr. Right’s Upstate New York home.
