Born and raised in Texas, Kenny & Kyle Saylors, found a fascination and passion for making movies at an early age; little did they realize how this love for entertainment would take them down a long road ahead. Now, years later, and after more than 14 years in the professional side of the business, he has acquired experience in numerous facets of the entertainment industry including television, documentaries, music videos, and motion pictures.
To date, Kenny, along with his brother Kyle, collectively known as the Saylors Brothers, have been involved in the production of hundreds of hours of network television programming, including programs shot, developed for, independently produced for, or airing on: NBC Sports, 20th Century FOX, BET, Trinity Broadcasting, PAX, USA Network, CSN, MTV, and more. These experiences allowed them to learn every aspect of production and offered them the opportunities to work on projects with some of the most prestigious names in their respected fields.
After some formative years working in Television production, working closely with the NFL and other sports-related programming, the Brothers were presented an opportunity to head in a new direction. This led them down a path towards the music arena of production. In the years following they produced numerous music videos with many multi-platinum, top selling artists, but most notably was the success of their mega-hit music video, "Souljas", with rap mogul, Master P and featuring Snoop Dogg. This video launched the single to the number one spot on the billboard Rap Singles Chart, and was also featured on MTVs Most Expensive Videos of the Year Special. This led to also producing a series of special television shows for BET and Mtv as well.
Finally they decided to fully pursue their deepest passion of bringing stories to the big screen and so they took it upon themselves to write their first screenplay and put together a feature film, in which they also Produced and Directed. This feature was shot with the newest technology at the time, HD 24p, which allowed the Brothers to be on the forefront of this new era of digital media. This led to producing two more Narrative films during the following years, one of which became somewhat of a sci-fi cult hit upon it's release in 2007.
This proved to be a training ground to prepare them for the challenges they faced ahead, but keeping their motivation fueled, the brothers pressed on and found themselves in the middle of many exciting projects. Realizing that their vision stretched farther than movies, the expanded their creative drive again, not limiting them to only one source of entertainment at a time, but to be involved with all forms of media (Motion Pictures, Music Videos, Documentaries and Television) which allowed them to achieve the full scope of their vision.
In that pursuit they love to tell stories that are often not heard and have made some compelling projects that have garnered much acclaim, such as "Pininfarina", the exclusive inside look at the Pininfarina Design Headquarters in Northern Italy. Pininfarina is, and has been, the exclusive designer of Ferrari and Maseratis for over 70 years.
The touching documentary, "An Animated Life: The Phil Roman Story", details the life and career of legendary animator and producer Phil Roman (The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Garfield and Friends, Charlie Brown Specials, Tom & Jerry, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and many others). This project takes a first hand look at the amazing life of this man who came from nothing to become one of the most prestigious animation producers of all time, being nominated for the Emmy award 26 times and winner 9 times, not including hundreds of other honors. This documentary gives insight into this colorful career of this legendary producer.
In 2007, the Saylors Brothers were approached by Sony/Integrity Recording artist Israel Houghton about producing and directing his first LIVE concert DVD, they accepted. This dvd went on to be nominated for a prestigious "Dove Award" and became one of Sony's highest selling Gospel concert dvd ever released.
Television has been a pivotal part of the Saylors history, so they have continued to venture this path as well with such shows as "Elements of a Champion", a television series that follows professional athletes beyond the field and into the workout room, to see what drives these men and women to go from the streets to being some of the top athletes in the world. The pilot episode features NFL record breaking, super bowl champion, running back Preist Holmes. The series is currently in negotiation with a Major Network. Not to mention "Inspired Ambition" and their newest tv series "Music & Motors" which dives into the NASCAR Culture. with the Baker/Curb NASCAR Team.
In 2009 alone, the brothers had 3 films released. "Kimjongilia" was honored to have its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2009 and has since gone on to show worldwide and has recieved numerous acclaim and honors. This production was truly a global effort to complete, filmed completely in South Korea while the editing was done in Paris, France and New York.
With more feature-documentaries and a slate of narrative films on the horizon, it is easy to see that the Saylors Brothers find themselves constantly on a creative push forward with several projects in development and in production almost all the time. Utilizing their vast production experience and their creative drive, they are successfully able to bring a level of professionalism and quality that is sometimes lost in this business today. This is more than merely a career; it is a life-long passion and dream come true for these two brothers from Texas.
