"Woe to the makers of literal translations, who by rendering every word weaken the meaning! It is indeed by so doing that we can say the letter kills and the spirit gives life." Voltaire
I began to translate as a freelance translator in 1999. It was the freedom and creativity one can achieve working as a freelance translator that attracted me primarily.
Another strong motivation was that during the years I spent living in the UK I became familiar with certain areas which were relatively unknown in Hungary that time. I felt very strongly about doing my share in the fields of alternative healthcare, self-help work, Steiner education and esoteric studies. This was a chance for me to help make the accumulated knowledge of these areas accessible to Hungarian readers. NaturalIy, I have also been working with various other types of texts over the he years.
I am a passionate reader. Books and words are both work and relaxation for me.
I am a member of an online community of professional translators. Here you can find details about my work experience, along with my CV:

Translation is like a woman. If it is beautiful, it is not faithful. If it is faithful, it is most certainly not beautiful." Yevgeny Yevtushenko
