Elysia Meghan Segal was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and grew up in Orlando, FL.. She was
bitten by the acting bug early on, performing in numerous school plays and holding the
title of Drama Club President for two years, as well as competing on her school's
forensics team (Dramatic Interp and Duo) and placing 5th in the nation. She competed
at the INTEL International Science & Engineering Fair two years in a row, and in 2003
placed 1st in the WORLD with her project, "A Study of Proteoglycans: Potential
Biomarker for Congenital Hydrocephalus in the H-Tx Model - Phase II." Elysia also worked at Walt Disney World for a number of years as a character performer in all four parks and parades.
Elysia earned a BFA in Drama with minors in both Psychology and Irish Studies from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, CAP21's Musical Theatre Studio, Stonestreet Studio's Film & Television Acting Workshop, and at the Irish Ensemble Acting Program in Dublin, Ireland. While at NYU, she served as President of the Tisch School of the Arts Undergraduate Student Council, and she is an active and founding member of the Tisch East Alumni Council.
She is currently a New York based film, television and theatre actress with a particular affinity for rock musicals and the sci-fi genre..
