Conny Raaymakers, LLP, BCBAConny Raaymakers is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Limited Licensed Psychologist. Conny received her Master of Arts in Behavior Analysis: Autism Treatment from Western Michigan University under the supervision of Richard W. Malott. Conny has experience working in the Early Childhood sector, child caring institutions, intense residential facilities for children with severe emotional and behavioral disorders, as well as consultative work for school districts. She has extensive experience conducting functional behavior assessments and analyses, developing behavioral intervention plans for severe problematic behaviors, providing Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention, staff and parent training, as well as ADL training (specifically toilet training). When she is not working, Conny enjoys spending time with her husband, four daughters, and two highly energetic dogs.
At Evidence Based Consultants we provide Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention(EIBI) services which target children ages 18 months to 6 years who are at risk orwho have been diagnosed with: speech/language delays, autism spectrum disorder,pervasive developmental disorders, cognitive impairments, and Downs Syndrome.We provide consultation as well as 1:1 services to individuals with developmentaldisabilities; at EBC we believe that all individuals are able to learn.

Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention

Behavior Consultations

Our staff are trained in using the VB-MAPP (Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program) as well as the ABLLS-R (Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills). Once your child's skills have been assessed, our clinicians will develop a comprehensive individualized program to meet your child's needs.
Our staff utilize the principles of Behavior Analysis to teach those daily living skils that lead to greater independence. Our staff have experience in toilet training, teaching meal preperation, dressing, feeding, grooming, and medication administration.
The staff at EBC have extensive experience working with children and adolescents with severe problematic behaviors. Our staff are trained to conduct functional behavior assessments or analyses and develop behavioral programming to reduce those behaviors that are interfering with socialization and/or education. We offer consultative services to organizations, including but not limited to: Community Mental Health Organizations, Residential Facilities, and local School Districts.Our services include:Staff training on positive behavioral interventions Staff training on classroom management techniquesFunctional Behavior Assessments and/or AnalysesBehavior Support Plan writing

1. What is the verbal behavior approachB.F. Skinner (1957) provided a functional analysis of communication in his book Verbal Behavior. He defined verbal behavior as behavior that is reinforced through the mediation of other persons needs (Skinner, p. 2). Skinner provides several distinct categories of verbal operants that are defined by their function (or surrounding environmental variables) and not by their inferred meaning.The verbal operants included in Skinner's analysis are tact (labels), mand (requests), echoic, and intraverbals. Skinner's analyses lead to a method for teaching functional communication to children with Autism. Our verbal behavior programs are guided and based on the following assessments:Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) (Sundberg, 2008)Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills Revised (ABLLS-R) (Sundberg and Partington, 1998)These assessments allow our consultants to get a baseline or picture for where your child is currently functioning and they provide us a map of where to start and which treatment programs to select. Additionally, these assessments can be used to evaluate which objectives have been mastered and which areas still require some work. 2. What credentials should I be looking for in my behavioral consultant?The best way to start is by looking on the Behavior Analyst Certification Board website to find out if your behavioral consultant is a BCBA (www.bacb.com).The BACB certifies practitioners in Applied Behavior Analysis.; individuals who sit for the BCBA exam demonstrate minimal competency in ABA by adhering to stringent requirements. Another area to examine is what experience your consultant has in working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Request their curriculum vita (CV) and ask to see their list of references.
