We make Ukrainian-style eggs (Pysanky.) It is a traditional craft that has been passed down through generations.
Each egg is carefully and meticulously designed by hand using a tool known as a Kitska. The Kitska drips hot wax on the egg as the artist guides it. The egg is then dipped in a series of dyes. This process is repeated until the wax is ready to be melted off, revealing a colorful design.
This is no ordinary Easter Egg!

Easton Gifts is made of Eva Restad and Aaron Long. They have been making eggs together for years, learning new techniques all the time.
Eva Restad is also an animator and artist. She graduated from CU Boulder in 2008 with a BFA in Film (Concentration in Animation) and a minor in Nordic Studies. You can see more of her art at www.wix.com/EvaRestad/TheBellyoftheBeast She loves drawing, mythology, and coloring books.
Aaron Long was holding a Kitska before a pencil. Pysanky has been a tradition in his family for generations. He is currently a florist at a local studio. He loves barbequing, brewing beer, and floral design.
These days they both ride their bikes around Portland Oregon.
