Coaches-
We are pleased to announce that we have Coaches Bradley, Christine and Steven returning for our summer season. The BOD is currently in the process of hiring Junior and Peer coaches for our summer season as well. Those interested in these positions should be at least entering high school in the Fall of 2012 AND have year round swim experience. Please contact Melissa Neal _ melissaandandy_comcast.net if interested in these positions. The VLSC BOD will be making these decisions in March and April.

Registration-
Registration for our summer season should begin the first week in March. Returning Piranhas and all Victory Lakes Residents will be given priority registration which runs from the first week of March through April 15. Please keep checking the website for a link to our registration page. Non residents who are interested in our team, should email Piranharegistrar_hotmail.com to be placed on a waiting list.
Winter Swim
2012 Winter Swim Program
We are excited to offer a 12 week program at the Freedom Aquatic Center run by our Co-Head Coaches Bradley and Christine!

We are now on a waitlist for winter swim. We do anticipate to take a few from our waitlist, so please get registrations turned in to Steve Smith as soon as possible. (His contact information is on the form.) Checks will NOT be cashed until after your swimmer has attended the first session on February 12th.
Try outs for 6 year olds wishing to participate in winter swim will be held on Sunday, February 5th at 3:30. Please look for Coach Christine and Coach Bradley in their red Piranha shirts. Evaluations should take no longer than 15 minutes.

2011 RED DIVISION TEAMS
KINGSBROOKE SEA LIONS, RIDGEWOOD BARRACUDAS, VICTORY LAKES PIRANHAS
Established in 2004 The Victory Lakes Swim Club is a community swim team for Victory Lakes residents and extended Piranha family. We strive to provide a fun, competitive, and family centered environment that will inspire every swimmer to challenge their minds and bodies to do their very best! Our ultimate goal is to instill a love of swimming that will last a lifetime. We are one of twenty four summer swim teams in the Greater Prince William Swim League (PWSL.) PWSL provides each team with ribbons and determines the meet schedule, sets the time standard, and devises the scoring system. Our league abides by USA Swimming guidelines to maintain safe and equitable competition for everyone. Our team is managed by parent volunteers. Please keep this in mind as you discover imperfections! The Board of the Victory Lakes Swim Club determines coaches’ salaries, sets the registration fee, and selects fundraisers; organizes equipment, activities, and volunteers; devises and executes various types of recognition; keeps track of swimming times and records; and provides communication between coaches, swimmers, and parents.

Theme for this weekend is "Zoo Crew." Piranhas are to dress up as their favorite animal and join Zookeeper Coach Mark for the pep rally Friday, July 2nd- as well as to the meet on Saturday morning. Use your imagination and creativity! Prizes are awarded to best costume. Join us for some exciting activities, cheers and Swimmer of the Week awards!
Friday Nite Bites:
Plan to have dinner at the pool with our Friday Nite Bites from one of our sponsors- Baja Bistro! Burritos and Quesadillas will be served from 6 p.m. until sold out! Entrees will be for sale for $8.00, including chips & salsa and a drink. Checks are accepted for payment.

Summer Swim
2011 SUMMER PROGRAM INFORMATION
What is involved in being a Piranha? FUN! Daily weekday swim practice focusing on swim technique and conditioning as well as weekly competitive swim meets. Weekly pep rallies which offer the team (swimmers and parents alike) a chance to have fun, meet new friends and get psyched for the upcoming meets. Plently of Social events to keep the fun going!

What is involved in being a Piranha parent? The Victory Lakes Swim Club is operated entirely by volunteers. It truly takes a village to run a swim team. Please be aware it is the policy of the VLSCI to have a family member participate in the operation of each swim meet if their swimmer is participating. Upon registration you will have an opportunity to choose positions in which to participate. We will make every effort to make scheduling of meet participation work for all involved. We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
When does practice begin? Tuesday May 31, after school, age group times TBD, weekdays through Friday June 17. Morning practices begin Monday June 20 weekdays through Friday July 29. See Calendarpage for more important dates.
What if my swimmer has other commitments? Summer is for fun, and Piranhas is one part of that. Attendance at every practice is not mandatory. VLSC understands that swimmers will take vacations and go to camps. If space is available we may be able to make a temporary change in practice time to accomodate camps. Temporary change of practice forms will be available on deck and must be submitted to the Team Manager. Please be sure to sign out of a meet in advance of your absence to be courteous to the coaches and volunteers that put in A LOT of work preparing meets. However, if your summer fun will have you missing a majority of Piranha time, you may wish to forego registration so that a swimmer who is able to fully participate will have a spot.
