What is Genesis?
Beginning. Most of the children and youth of Copan, Honduras have not even begun to experience the world of the arts. Most have never painted on canvas, or played a guitar, never danced or even thought of acting in a play. Genesis is a school of the arts located in Copan Ruinas, Honduras. The school is free for children from grades 4-8. Genesis also provides a platform for artists to share their art with children and youth who have never experienced it. Genesis is funded completely by donations, so when you give you are directly responsible for making art accessible in the lives of children.

The Need
Money, instruments & you.
We need monthly and one time donors to pay the rent of our building and to buy supplies for the children.
We are also inviting donations of musical instruments such as guitars, keyboard, and woodwind instruments (no recorders please).
Finally, Genesis has a team which includes both Honduran teachers, as well as international interns. We are seeking talented artists who wish to share their gift with the children, youth and community of Copan. Internships last 2 months, and cost $800 plus air fare to our location. Interns will live in one of our intern homes while teaching and experiencing Honduran culture.
