Hi. My name is Dorothy Cavalcanti. This is my Prayer Pillow story.
I bought a pillow at a craft show and thought I would like to make them. They got laid aside until GOD put the burden on my heart to support Drew, Cindy, and Isaiah and their ministry to children in Guatemala. I made a Prayer Pillow for Isaiah as a birthday gift. He loved it. Again, it got set aside until this past year when I began making the Pillows for my children and grandchilden.
Then GOD put it on my heart to go to Guatemala on a missions trip.
As I was asking GOD how I could pay for my ticket, HE kept bringing into my mind the Prayer Pillows. As I made them, GOD blessed and my ticket was paid for when so many people bought Prayer Pillows! GOD put the idea in my mind of making and selling the Prayer Pillows and using a percentage to help Guatemalan children. I also handed out the Pillows to chidren on my mission trip. The pictures you see on the menu bar on the left are orphan children I cared for on my mission trip to Guatemala.
Inside the pocket of each Prayer Pillow comes a set of cards which have the Lord's prayer, as well as other ideas for prayer and some blank cards for the children to include their own prayer requests. Parents can help the children to pick out a card each day and pray. There is also a written instruction sheet explaining how the prayer pillow can be used to help the children learn to express their emotions to GOD as they pray.
My desire is to use this business to bring glory to GOD and to help children everywhere find hope in JESUS.
