OVERVIEW
Delicato Family Vineyards, based in Manteca, California, is a family-owned winery with 85 years of
experience in California winemaking and winegrowing. Three generations of the Indelicato family have
overseen vineyard operations and winemaking at their California properties and today the company is led
by CEO and president, Chris Indelicato. Delicato Family Vineyards is steadfastly committed to crafting and
representing wines of the highest quality and value. The companys brand portfolio includes Gnarly Head®,
337®, Irony®, Bota Box®, Loredona®, Twisted®, Brazin®, Delicato® and King Fish®. In addition, Delicato Family

CHALLENGE & SOLUTION
With customer service at the forefront, Delicato Family Vineyards values the importance of a reliable, innovative,
and easy-to-use communications platform. Having used a legacy PBX system since 1997, Delicato gradually
faced increased support costs, unsupported software versions, and the demand for more IT administrator
time to manage the aging system. In addition, end users were becoming increasingly frustrated with delays
in restoring phone service after problems arose. Delicato decided to proactively seek a new communications
solution, and ultimately chose the feature-rich Digium® Switchvox® platform.
With the adaptability and limitless possibilities of the Digium Switchvox platform, Delicato found solutions to
long-standing communications problems. During the installation, very few networking infrastructure changes
were needed to integrate the Switchvox into the companys existing environment. Overall, Delicato found that
Switchvoxs wide feature set simply worked as stated.
Faced with the demand of an increasingly mobile workforce, Delicato was immediately impressed with
Switchvoxs ability to handle the mobility issues surrounding multiple phones and voice mailboxes, as well as
the need for mobile employees to remain reachable by their managers.

CASE STUDY SWITCHVOX DELICATO FAMILY VINEYARDS
In addition to mobility, Delicato found that the new Digium Switchvox platform was easy for end users to
transition to, with a very little impact on users and IT support staff. Day-to-day operations and management of
the system are simple, and ongoing IT support staff involvement is minimal.
Delicato realized immediate cost savings with the new Digium Switchvox platform. A significantly lower TCO
was instantly present due to the elimination of home phones and lines for sales staff. Lower maintenance costs,
and the ability to inexpensively connect remote users and offices were available with the Switchvox solution.
RESULTS
Overall, Delicato Family Vineyards has seen significant improvements in the companys communications
performance through the Digium Switchvox Platform. As a standards-based solution with a rich feature set,
Switchvox product reduced overall costs, eliminated phone support headaches, and simplified communications
throughout Delicato. An easy user transition and minimal day-to-day IT staff management made the Digium

Beatrix Potter Uses Switchvox SOHO
Leading Primary School embraces IP telephony. Beatrix Potter Primary School located in Wandsworth, London has implemented a state-of-the-art Digium Switchvox SOHO PBX through one of Digium's Select Resellers.
The School provided feedback on their experience with Switchvox. Beatrix Potter is now using Switchvox PBX as its sole communications platform. We decided to implement Switchvox from a Panasonic KXT systems for it's ease of use and features. In particular we wanted the ability to administer the system (both system settings and end-user) via easy to navigate forms.
Challenge and Solution
Beatrix Potter School Realizes Greater Cost Savings, Ease of Use with Switchvox SOHO. The school had the following key requirements that have now been delivered through the use of Switchvox: Multiple IVR options, that allows Call Routing according to Business or Out of Hours time frames.
* Voicemails to be transferred to a system users email account
* The ability to forward calls from one user to another
* An easy-to-use system that offers the ability to make changes and updates on the fly through a user-friendly GUI
Installation of the system was very straightforward. The Switchvox system had the majority of the call routing settings implemented along with the network settings. So it was a simple case of wall mounting the appliance, and then connecting the PSTN and network interfaces.
Steph Neale, Headteacher of the School provided the following feedback:
"The thing we really like about the Switchvox system is how easy it is to use and make changes. We no longer have to rely on an engineer to come to the School and make changes to the system. We can either do it ourselves, or ask the reseller who installed it for us to make a change on our behalf remotely. This has allowed us to keep our maintenance/ongoing support costs down to a bare minimum.
Now that we are using SIP trunking as well as our analog connection to BT, we are seeing the cost savings increase over time as we make more calls through VoIP.
In summary I can only describe the Switchvox system as a well built, easily managed appliance, which is ideal for a school or small business."

WireSpring, a developer of software for dynamic digital signage and self-service kiosks provided this feedback
on their experience with Switchvox
After outgrowing our companys old Lucent/Avaya phone system, we were looking for a product that could
deliver advanced features like automated call distribution (ACD) queues and multi-level interactive voice
response (IVR) menus. We initially looked at over 50 solutions, eliminating a large number due the following
requirements:
• Linux or BSD-based software platform (not Windows)
• Works with standard phones (e.g. Polycom, Swiss Voice, Cisco)
• Web-based graphical interface for both setup and ongoing administration
• Support for multiple ACD queues
• Support for unlimited quantity and depth of IVRs
• No requirement for a specially trained technician to perform regular tasks like adding an extension or modifying an
ACD queue
With this set of requirements, we eliminated virtually every provider in the market, leaving about 3-5 final candidates.
It was then that we asked for a demo/trial setup (which we were more than willing to pay for). Some
providers gave us a web-based demo, others sent a salesrep to show us a demo setup, but only Switchvox
told us that we could simply buy a SIP-compliant phone and then configure it for use with their live demo
server in California. In under an hour we were up and running on the demo system and making live calls, and
after a few days of testing we knew we had found the right solution.
Placing the order was a quick and easy process, using a handy web-based configuration tool. The system
was shipped promptly and arrived in perfect condition. Initial configuration was easy, and we had the whole
thing up and running during the first day.
As with any cutting-edge product, we had a couple of challenges along the way. Our voice line interface (PRI)
was causing some problems with the initial Switchvox server, so Switchvox arranged for a perfect copy of our
server to be made remotely, and they sent us a new one that solved the problem -- with no downtime. As an
organization that produces very high call volume on both sales and support, we also found a couple of ways
that user error could cause problems with the call queues. Brian and the Switchvox team identified and fixed
these bugs almost immediately. In fact, the overall support from Switchvox has been extraordinary -- very few
technology providers offer support of this caliber.
Overall, the Switchvox system is working extremely well and we are very happy with the quality of the product
and service. If faced with the same decision again, we would definitely make the same choice. Switchvox
is an exceptional product backed by a world-class organization, and were thrilled to be a customer.
