about
Jessica brought her first Berner, Haley, home in 1995. We instantly fell in love with all things Berner - their beauty, grace, temperament and above all else, their tremendous heart.Shortly thereafter, Jessica began exhibiting her Berner in conformation and draft. After dabbling in some other performance events, Jessica decided that conformation was her true love. After several years of studying and continued activity locally and nationally, Jessica decided to try a new venture - strive to breed the ideal Bernese. It was then that the Dreamfields Kennel transformed from a dream into a reality.We have bred a few litters over the years since. Our goal is to breed Bernese that conform to proper breed type and temperament. Our contiued goal is to breed healthy, sound and long-lived Berners. We continue to exhibit our dogs in many venues, garnering titles in conformation, obedience, tracking and drafting. All of our dogs are handled to their various titles by Jessica - ALL breeder/owner/handled!Jessica's club affiliations include membership in the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America and the Des Moines Kennel Club. She is the current President of the Heartland Bernese Mountain Dog Club. She is also a Director for the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of IowaJessica also recently fulfilled the requirements necessary to become recognized by the American Kennel Club as a "Breeder of Merit."Thank you for visiting our website. Dreamfields' The Cleverness Of Me

Devon....well, she definitely has...persnality!We call her our Border Collie in a Berner suit. She has the most amazing intellect. Unfortunately for us, she puts it to use on a daily basis. She not only figures out how to do something; she actually does it! Hopefully we can channel that energy into the working dog that we know she has the potential to be. Now we only face the challenge of convincing her that it was HER idea!Devon, also known as "Devil," has already racked up some show accolades. Starting out with winning a AKC sanctioned match Working Group First, she has gone on to earn 6 points towards her AKC Championship. She has been shown on a very limited basis.Her greatest accomplishment to date is winning FIRST place in her class at the BMDCA National Specialty in May 2010 under breeder/judge Deborah Wilkins.Devon just had two babies born February 18, 2011! Potter is a wonderful, goofy guy. At two years of age, he is still growing into himself. We are very pleased with this young man. He makes us laugh every day with his antics. Knicknamed "The Boxer" for his powerful front legs that he "lovingly" tries to wrap around your legs, he is equally capable of holding still for a prolonged petting and cuddling session.Potter has only been shown a few times thus far. He has earned a few honorable wins already. Potter won first place in his puppy sweeps class at the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of the Greater Twin Cities regional specialty under breeder/judge Margie Reho.Potter also won fourth place in Futurity at the BMDCA National Specialty in May 2010 under breeder/judge Dawn Cox.Stay tuned for great things to come from this young man. For right now he is at home keeping the couch warm.

Gryffin is creating his own legend....as the craziest Berner puppy we've ever met. His zest for life is beyond contagious. He is incredibly intelligent and has amazing problem-solving skills. We only wish that he would learn how to stay out of trouble (and the ER because of his mischief)!Gryffn is now looking for a new forever home. We had three lovely babies born recently here at Dreamfields.Our first was Katie, born February 3, 2011. Katie is already in her new forever home. Her new nae is Daisy (Dreamfields' Pocket Full Of Daisies) and she is co-owned with Veronica Moyle.Dam: Laney, CH Dreamfields' She's All That RN, TD, NDDSire: Gus, CH Ahquabi's Fergus The First CD, RAOur next two babies were born February 18, 2011. Our little boy, Bilbo Waggins is now in his forever home. His new name is Ozzie (Dreamfields Wizard Of Oz). He is co-owned with Kathy Lage.Our little girl, Possum, is staying here at Dreamfields.Dam: Devon, Dreamfields' The Cleverness of MeSire: Nikko, CH Enchant's No Rest For The WickedWe LOVED the Devon x Nikko litter so much that we are planning a repeat breeding to take place sometime in June 2011. Hogan was bred by Holly and Julie Simmons of Prairiewyn Golden Retrievers.Hogan is really Mom's Golden. She waited for over 2 years for this young guy. We had fallen in love with his sire, Bentley, and so we waited for that "it" puppy out of the right litter.We are excited about Hogan's future show career. As the "Golden ring" is so highly competitive, we are waiting for "Hogan Daas' to mature before we really turn him loose in the ring.A big thank you to Hogan's co-owner and Bentley's breeder/owner/handler, Donni Sue Graff, for leading us to Bentley's baby son. We hope that he follows in Bentley's big pawprints.

While at first she drew as a result of her own passion, she soon began creating for her friends and family. She has "graduated" now to capturing your pet for you.All she needs is a high-resolution photo, preferably a head and neck study, of your pet.
