David attended Rice University from 2001-2005, earning his Bachelors degree in Music Composition. There, he studied under Pierre Jalbert, Kairm Al-Zand, Arthur Gottschalk, and Richard Lavenda. In 2004, David also studied film music with Hummie Mann at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program.
After graduating with honors, David married his high-school sweetheart Heather, and moved with her to Cincinnati, Ohio. There, David attended the University of Cincinnati from 2005-2007, earning his Masters degree in Music Composition under the instruction of Michael Fiday, and Joel Hoffman.
David also studied film scoring with Thomas Haines privately and attended the Aspen Music Festival and School studying under Mr. Haines, Jeff Rona, and Bruce Broughton.
From 2005-2009, David lived with his wife, Heather, in Cincinnati. He taught private lessons in piano and voice, was the choir director of the Pleasant Run Presbyterian Church, and held the position of Office Registrar and Programs Coordinator at the Center for the Arts, Wyoming (a non-profit music school in the heart of Cincinnati) where he also taught in both private and classroom settings.
At the end of 2009, David and Heather relocated to Austin, to settle down in a home of their own and begin raising a family. David now works for Lord of Life Lutheran Church as both its Music Minister and Office Manager, while Heather continues working as a veterinary technician.
David has collaborated with numerous artists and students on film and media projects, and continues to seek opportunities to help artists and directors achieve their creative vision.
