Jehan Carter aka J. Carter is industry dynamite out of Washington, D.C. J. Carter is building herself as a brand: lawyer, model, actress, choreographer, events planner and now author of her first book, People Hate'Em Really Do!® Moments: Ten Principles to Live By. Growing up in Washington, D.C. the arts have always been a part of her life through dance, drama and music. From acting in all the Shakespeare plays in elementary school to playing the violin with the D.C. Youth Orchestra on the Kennedy Center stage; to dancing with the Dance Theatre of Harlem and then choreographing for the University of Virginia dance teams where she attended college, the arts background has given her a rich and rewarding experience. Alongside her arts background, her exposure to the law has been equally gratifying. From mock trials beginning in elementary school through college; then as a student ambassador for the Holocaust Museum at the Millennium at the White House focusing on genocide to earning all three Gold, Silver and Bronze Congressional Award Medals honoring my youth activism and volunteer service. Throughout her experiences, she was told that she would have to choose between the arts and the law for a career, and law was a better career choice. She decided to prove this seemingly logical advice wrong by combining the two and giving some hope to the many artists who choose to follow their passion, but still need representation. She believes she can participate and contribute in both worlds.
J. currently resides in New York City where she is finishing her law degree at New York Law School. She balances this with both a modeling/dancing/acting career part-time, so catch if you can! Some of her credits include: Gold Congressional Award Medalist, MISS DC USA 2004 Runner-up Finalist and MISS NEW YORK USA 2008 State Finalist, Notorious, The Strategy Room on Fox News, MTV's TRL, MTVs Making the Band 3, Law and Order, NYC's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. With a first name like "Jehan" which is Arabic for the whole world, there's no doubt that she will not stop until shes conquered just that! Wherever you are J. Carter will soon be......stay tuned! J. Carter is currently represented by Stanley Kaplan and Gilla Roos Management.

Passing the Torch: Former Medalist Jehan Carter partners with DCTV to air D.C. Congressional Award Commercial this fall to encourage DC area students to earn the Award
August 16, 2011, Washington, DC Donne Belle Productions is proud to announce the debut of the DC Congressional Award Commercial which is scheduled to air daily beginning next month on DCTV (Comcast 95 & 96 and RCN 10 & 11, and Verizon Fios 10,11, & 28; check your local listing for channel).
The purpose of the commercial is to re-energize DC area youth to participate in the Congressional Award program, the only United States Congress non-partisan award for young Americans. The program gives students ages 14-to-23 years old the opportunity to earn Bronze, Silver, and Gold Congressional Award Medals for completion of the four dimensions of the Congressional Award: Volunteer Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness, and Expedition/Exploration. Moreover, in the recent years there has been a lag in participation specifically in the DC area; therefore, the commercial targeting DC area students will give exposure to this unique opportunity where students are honored for achieving their own personal challenging goals. The commercial was sponsored by Vita Coco Coconut Water and the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens where the students were filmed participating in aquatic cleanup of their community. The commercial features DC school students from Banneker Academic SHS and Idea Public Charter School who have recently registered for the Award highlighting their individual efforts in completing the award. Alongside the students, DC Senator (Shadow) Paul Strauss gives words of encouragement to get students involved in the Congressional Award. Furthermore, Jehan Carter, 2011 Miss Washington, who earned all 3 medals, gives a testimony of her experiences with the Congressional Award.
When asked about his outlook on the Congressional Award program Senator Strauss explained, As the United States Senator for the District of Columbia, I encourage all DC youth to take advantage of this great program. Students can earn the award doing activities they already enjoy or want to learn for the first time."
When asked about her outlook on the DC Congressional Award Commercial, Miss Washington Jehan Carter remarked, So many of our area students are already involved in activities that would qualify for the Award, its our job to make sure they know about the award and benefit from it just like all the other students across the nation. I am hoping this commercial is the first step in that right direction." Carter is excited to partner locally with Paxton Baker, Executive Vice President of Centric (BET) who is also the Chairman of the Congressional Award program to help feature the commercial on the network and create local opportunities for area students with the television network.

Pollywood Nights Puts the Hollywood in Politics
Documentary by J. Carter, Red Carpet Premiere Event: November 19, 2010, 6pm
(WASHINGTON, DC) - For her debut as a producer, Washington, DCs Congressional Award
Gold Medalist, Jehan Carter (J. Carter), spotlights the fusion of politics, media, and celebrity in Pollywood Nights. The documentary highlights this Pollywood phenomenon in the Obama era while following four characters and their professional and social lives in Washington, DC.
Viewers follow these four characters as their proximity to power offers a new outlook on the political, philanthropic, entrepreneurial, and social scenes, which truly come alive at night.
The premiere of the documentary will take place November 19, 2010, at 6pm in the Heritage Center Auditorium of the US Navy Memorial Museum. In the spirit of the philanthropic aspect of
Pollywood, this V.I.P. event will be a charity red carpet screening. It will benefit Lukes Wings, an organization that provides travel planning services and airplane tickets for the families of
wounded warriors currently hospitalized at medical and rehabilitation centers all over the country.
Pollywood Nights pulls back the curtain to explore the colorful components of politics, media, and celebrity that make up Pollywood, the fusion. It also showcases Pollywood, the place, which features some of Washingtons most stylish, influential, and powerful players emerging on
the Pollywood scene who work by day and play by night.
Producer J. Carter also highlights some of the major red carpet political, philanthropic and art events since the 2009 Inauguration. Some of these include the 2009 inaugural balls, the White
House Correspondents Dinners, the Kennedy Center Honors, and the now infamous India White
House State Dinner.
The four characters include: The Jack of All Trades, J. Carter, The Entrepreneur, Kate Michael,
The Capitol Hill Player, Kelechi Kalu, and The Artist, Bill Twilde.
Right now, there is more than just politics going on in this town. We are experiencing a renaissance in DC fueled by entrepreneurs, artists, philanthropists and a young family in the
White House, says Producer J. Carter. New York has Sex and the City, Miami had Miami Vice and now DC has Pollywood Nights about the real people who live here and making DC a world
class city. This is a side of city you havent seen. Pollywood Nights is my gift back to a city that has done so much for me. It shows a side of this city that has not traditionally been emphasized.
