DJC Kids Media is donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each copy of Dave the Canadian Beaver Goes to Japan to the Red Cross to help those affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
"We finished illustration on Dave the Canadian Beaver Goes to Japan on March 10, 2011 and woke the next morning to worried phone calls and e-mails from friends asking if our friends and family in Japan were alright. We quickly turned on the news and were horrified to see the devastation taking place. While we were relieved to learn that our loved ones in Japan were safe, thousands of others were not so lucky. Scores of people have been left to grieve lost family and friends, entire homes and
businesses have been washed away and entire
communities have been lost. The Japanese people
are resilient and they will rebuild those areas
devastated by the earthquake and tsunami. However,
right now every little bit of aid and support helps those
suffering something so unimaginable.
Dave the Canadian Beaver Goes to Japan is a
project that we have been working on for the past
several years. It now serves as a tribute to all that
Japan means to us here at DJC Kids Media."
