Jef Bourgeau's camera style is so strong that it can even shroud a brilliant day, so that, instead of light, the sun seemingly emits darkness and shadows.
His vision drapes geometrically clashing rural beauty with the sooty persona of its woods and lakes, succinctly captured by an artist who spends much of the year in the Midwest's glowering twilight.
