If you had been there that balmy afternoon as I brought the airplane in for a landing, you would have seen the ocean beaches off to our right, you would have felt the plane bank roughly left and right and bounce around in the air a bit, and then you would have felt the plane bounce a couple times as we hit the runway. You would have heard me say to Sam, one of my passengers, "Yikes, that was a rough landing." Sam reminded me, "Any landing you walk away from is a good landing."
Later, landing at the airport back home, the airplane settled like a feather and you could hear the tires light screech as they gently kissed the runway. I said, "Now that was a smooth landing." Sam replied, "But we haven't walked away from it yet."
